Recorded 7/1/2024 at 3:50 pm. The video was edited for time as 154 came by very slowly initially. I have a feeling one of the passing motorists could've merely been nosy and called me in to NS. Dispatch could've notified 154 about an "individual near the tracks in Greer," so the crew would've been going slower to be on the lookout. If not that, it was probably just the good ol' auto control doing what it does best, which is saving fuel by making trains move at a snail's pace! It sucks because when I was waiting for 282 that came by before this 154, it sounded like they were HAULING through the area based on how quickly the conductor was calling clear signals. I'm not sure what was up with 154 here. Either way, I've gotten tired of these turtle speed trains up here, on both NS and CSX. I'll be taking a trip to the A-Line on CSX down between Florence and Dillon at the end of July. That's one of the major lines I haven't visited in this state yet. So, stay tuned for that!
