NS 8100 on CSX Tracks!

The NKP Heritage Unit somehow made it on the point of CSX oil train K055-23, and is seen here heading Westbound through Saint Denis MARC station on March 23, 2014. Also Q034 and Q373 are seen as well. Thanks for watching!

Superb video - wonderful start with that really long shot showing the trains in the distance and then drawing out to show the huge length of the oil train - the arrival of the second train could not have turned up better taking the curve with the oil train going away - and wow what power on the third train and length of that was just massive - have seen quite a few American freight trains but don't recall seeing one as long as that one - always amazes me how the engineers get those mega long trains moving without the couplings parting somewhere on the train due to the huge forces and inertia involved when taking up the slack

You've got a lot of great catches there! I think I keep going there on the wrong days! Then again, I can only make it there on Sundays-I think that's my downfall! But, back in the 80s, even Sundays were busy here! Iamanaged to grab some pix back then-but nowadays, not a lot of Sunday action here! Debated on trying tomorrow (3-30) either here or the Philly Sub (closer to me)-but they're calling for rain! Still debatin...
