@@BradleyDCC The SD40-2 was built to last. It's too bad NS rebuilt most of the high hoods into a low nose.

I noticed it had a tightlock coupler on the short hood end, and a standard coupler on the long hood end, I wonder why mismatched couplers? Awesome footage !!

Because that's how the railroad is. When something breaks they replace it with whatever they got. They need to keep em'' in service as long as they can without much down time.

Crew safety I believe and some agreements with Unions, these particular units also featured duel control stands so they could be bidirectional.
