Beautiful. Even though my cottage is only 900sf, I will end up with 2-3 different materials on exterior. I appreciate knowing this is a sensible approach.

Did you consider installing a drip edge in brick at weep elevation?
@cxsey8587 Жыл бұрын
With that shingle siding, if they need to be repaired would you have to replace all those shingles and the wrb? Or would you just tape over the penetrations? Looks amazing.
@NSBuilders Жыл бұрын
Great question, I would think a couple replacement shingles would be no big deal and likely just leave nails and bang them flush.

How did they get the drip edge to bend on the curve roof?

You have a great team to make a project like that come together. Out of sheer curiosity, what is the ballpark budget for a house like this? $2-3M? $5-7M?
@josecito976 Жыл бұрын
Hard to say… but given the local RE market in that area… and without seeing the interior finishes… I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the $400-500/sq ft but it may very well be north of that Massachusetts is notoriously expensive to build never mind to this level of craftsmanship and detail… ask me how I know

Beautiful. Is there any flashing detail between transitions of the shingle/boral siding and the brick ledge? I know it’s nerdy, but would water make its way up the brick and sit against the siding?
@TridentHomeConsulting Жыл бұрын
Or is that even a reasonable worry?
@NSBuilders Жыл бұрын
Yes we have a small piece of lead flashing between the brick and wood/Boral. But it’s all installed on top of the rainscreen

When spraying door exterior doors,how does that work out in case of touch up...do you pull them back out????.thanks
@NSBuilders Жыл бұрын
If we have to, we will, but often times a good painter and foam roller can do the job. Or brush with flooding agent.

Great video. Do you have an opinion on aquor hose bibs? I see you used traditional style bibs, I just installed an aquor and really like it. Second question, range and dryer roof jacks..Do you have a particular brand you like to use there seem to be few options outside the cheap sheetmetal box store ones. Thank you.
@NSBuilders Жыл бұрын
I think the Aquor are great to be honest. Would have been a great option here. Not sure on the roof jacks, but we typically order our equipment and tools from tool supplier.

Why are the exterior garage door trim different width. It really stands out????beautiful choices of exterior materials.....
@NSBuilders Жыл бұрын
Different width? Are you referencing the top arch vs. the side legs? What you're seeing is the drip cap on the top, making it appear narrower. This will go away when painted.
@idontthinkso666 Жыл бұрын
@@NSBuilders I thought that at first, too, but then you could see the lead flashing in the close up.

@NS Builders we'll get prefinished steel (high zinc cotent, same material as our roof sheets)bent up, to suit. But I like the idea of pre finished aluminium, I think you use it a bit in US, I'm a builder in Australia.
