NSCN-IM Objects To Centre's Decision To Abrogate Free Movement Regime Along Indo-Myanmar Border

The NSCN-IM has raised objections to the Centre’s decision to abrogate the Free Movement Regime and the construction of the fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border. The NSCN-IM has termed the move, an attempt to further divide the Nagas through boundaries.
The group also termed the policies of scrapping the Free Movement Regime and border fencing as a colonial ‘divide and rule’ strategy to crush the Nagas under the pretext of combating insurgency, illegal immigrants and drug trafficking, thus defending that this safeguard ‘national security and integrity.
NSCN-IM alleged such acts are an attack on the brotherhood of Nagas in India and Myanmar. The group added Nagas do not accept the division and act of segregating of its people.
