The smoke rounds are not WP based, they are the Israeli M150 Elbit 155mm smoke shell, which releases 5 smoke bomblets based on Hexa-Chloroethane Smoke (HCS), same as in regular smoke signalers. You can even count five perfect bomblets in the video. Not CS or WP. More info about the M150 shell on CAT-UXO. They were developed specifically to be safer than WP on urban areas and would not harm a person severely.

The Geneva convention which regulates the laws of war does not apply to the Israel-Palestine(Hamas) war/conflict for more reasons then one. 1. GC can be applied when one of the participants did not sign the convention (like Palestine which is not a signatory) only if the non signatory also respects the provisions of the GC. And Palestine does not abide by it (taking hostages, indiscriminate fire and so on) 2. The GC applies to combatants and noncombatants (meaning civilians). Armed elements that don not wear recognizable uniform/insignia are not protected by the GC. This exception is also applied between countries that signed the GC. So elements that operate behind enemy lines and don't wear an uniform are not protected by the convention.
@ramjetross8 ай бұрын
That's not how GC treaties work. Look up non-state-actors in the treaties and how even when fighting the taliban you have to follow the treaties. You think the US could violate laws of war to kill civilians so recklessly in Afghanistan or Iraq? Palestine isn't Hamas. You can't snipe/murder women and children and think you're following the GC treaties.

If one is armed a person will assume they are all together
@teardrop-in-a-fishbowl8 ай бұрын
A soldier can't really decide who's and who's not armed that fast when engaging with a enemy in such close combat. You shoot, no matter what, and questions can be made later then. BUT, driving over bodies in full consciousness, where there is space to not to have to, is pretty disgusting in my eyes. We don't have to become huge a**holes. Even if war is going pretty disgusting ways, is making "other humans" out of us, we must withstand doing sh*t like this. Not so because of "respecting" the enemy, but because for ourselves to not get "lost" entirely, in a spiral of violence a war brings with. If not, all barriers break and we become what we're supposably fighting against!
@tomeggleston3678 ай бұрын
Thank you brother. Interested on more explanation from the West Bank video around 17:00...why a potential war crime? I see a bunch of guys running out to apparently intercept the IDF troops, no? The fact some are armed shows the group's intent. In fact kinda dumb to try and join in an ambush without a weapon...? Maybe the plan was for the armed troops to do the shooting and the others to do the hostage taking / mutilating? Either way, no chance the IDF troops could distinguish between who had their AKs with them and who didn't. Not in that fraction of a second. Unless I'm missing something more obvious? In which case my apologies! Keep up the excellent work 🍻

Lol.. I used to skeet shoot.. with a double barreled over under selective single trigger 12 bore.. It doesnt look like a war crime ...In war you don't limit yourself where you can drive simply because there may be a body in the way, you dont limit your freedom of movement simply because a body is in the way. Now if they were purposefully making a point to driver over a body then yes that would be desecrating a body ..however not knowing the intent of the driver does not look like a desecration of a body, it simply looks like a body was in the way of moving the vehicle forward to provide forward cover.

@@kambing4eva that is a very good question. I believe I would have to view it in the same manner in which it has historically been seen with Hamas and other Islamic groups and how they videotaped themselves desecrating IDF bodies during their rampage on Oct 7th. (examples on video Stabbing, stomping with feet, cutting head off with knives and garden hoe, Cutting off limbs, setting bodies on fire with fuel or tires burning the list goes on). So when you have an ideology that historically desecrates the bodies of their enemies' dead. You have every reasonable belief to view it as it is seen, the desecration of a body.

Yeah, obviously they opened up. Look at how scary gaza fighting has been and look how much friendly fire deaths mainly because of that high stress fighting

A ww2 p 38 fighter pilot told me. As much time as possable they where required to skeet shoot to practice leading your fire. I would guess in a trench practice time is very short lived. I am curious if it would be a practice exercise or required in training. Or maybe should be required protocol in training infantry. I mean you like to know who your best marks man is. Leading a shot is a lot different than sniper shooting. I have seen some amazing fast duck hunters and some that could never get the hang of it.

Re: running from drones, there's other considerations. If you think the drone is going to drop a grenade, then yes, running makes sense. However, keep in mind these guys are carrying combat loads, armor, and weapons, so they ain't exactly moving fast. Also, there are drones everywhere, so even when you hear them, are they yours or theirs? Is your communication good enough to know when your own drones are around? What if there's more than one, which is likely? Next, especially if you're on the attack, where would you run to? Into the bushes that may have AP mines? Out into an open field?
@ClawsoftheLion8 ай бұрын
Other factors to consider: On top of all that gear they are humping. It's cold, wet, muddy, and miserable. How long have they been awake? How fatigued are they? When was the last time they ate? When was the last time they drank? Are they even warm enough to maintain normal motor functions? Moving in this environment, consistently on the move, is going to drain you. Just think about the morale and complacency that is taking a toll upon them. Footage in this very stream shows that aside from trying last ditch "spray and pray" at the drones, at best those who try and dodge anything hurled at them by the drones only ever minimally try to turn their back to the threat, because this is natural instinct to preserve face and chest. This is all that they can muster. Keyboard warriors don't know this because they are stupid and/or have never experience it.
