Thanks for sharing. Regards to comparing streaming service provider and local self rip audio file. In more scientific approach is first download the streamer service song to local and both files ame as wave format and do a file binary compare and see any difference or not before go for sound test. If both files are identical then it should have same sound quality right.

Thanks for sharing. Let back to the computer networking or internet basic. Currently almost all network communications is using protocol call TCP, and TCP have build in error checking when when error is detected it will request to resnd. That's why we can browse website, download files and many more without any communication problem. Same as the youtube, tidal and any other streaming service provide on internet will also using the TCP standard of transfer. So regardless of how good or expensive of your internet network equipments & cables as long as it meet category standard it would make any difference. And faster connection speed also doesn't make the sound better it just the speed of data transfer as long as it receives the song data faster than playback speed then no problem. Processor speed also the same if the streaming device doesn't do a lot of data processes it would effect the sound quality also. Only mean thing is if the streamer device have build in DAC then it will be the same concern like deticated DAC the design, power, opamp and etcs.

Thanks for sharing. Back to the subject streaming or local self rip wav file which is sound better. Let us be more scientific approach. Fist of all, self rip concern, the available CD read in the market now are quite good, before you think about reading the audio CD actually we can ready the data from CD also. If you still remember we install software from CD in many years ago. So reading the data from data is very consistent right. So reading data from audio CD is the same as long as it can read without error. Of cause you can try this and see your CD drive are good quality or not. First rip a old CD direct take out from CD case. Second rip is do all the clean and all process you think can make the CD can play better sound. And than just do a file compare of 2 files and see have different or not. If both files is identical then both files playback should sound the same right.
