Those fancams you saw included big bang, tvxq and super junior, all very huge 2nd gen kpop groups who have done their service. Sometimes groups like them get the opportunity to perform at military events for promotion and fundraising.

It's not really that complicated tbh, even though Jimin is so popular, he is nowhere near Tae and jk (no hate intended, he is also amazing). That's just the truth. Those two have always been the most popular. If I may explain it. Jk is the most popular one in BTS (being the main vocalist, great dancer, center of BTS, overall amazing). He has the most fans among Army, whereas Tae is the most popular idol ever. He has far more fans outside of the BTS fandom (it's not like he isn't as good, but he has less chances to shine in BTS in comparison to the main vocalist or the rap line). So when you ask Army about the most popular member, 60% will answer JK. But if you ask muggles, most of them will answer V. One example is the solo songs they release, jk has many successful songs under BTS, however Tae's most successful songs are for different projects like OSTs (original soundtrack) for dramas. If you compare social media, it is by far in favour of V, being the most followed on intagram is one of the indications, however I can tell you that 40% of people following him there are no fans of BTS. (which is not his fault btw). That guy really has the most fans and most antis (haters) in BTS
