Many thanks to Mitchell Pearce for giving us a wonderful era of football for QLD.

That’s a false narrative to hide the fact Queensland had a once in a lifetime talent pool and chemistry rarely seen in sports. Mitchell Pearce was NSW’s best option and tbh was the Blues best player in a lot of games his defensive efforts 1 on 1 with big men like GI and QLD’s forwards was amazing also. Don’t blame just the one guy he did the best with what circumstances he was given

@@ChrisavelliOCE MP was trash, the only reason he got in the side was because NSW execs were too weak to eradicate him due to his father's legacy. All his life, he never learnt to earn his status, always relying on daddy to pave his way. You're talking about his defensive efforts against GI which I know for a fact he was garbage in defence. You're a joke

Some great players out there. Tense atmosphere. NSW poor decision and game management ended up costing them. QSL: Smith, Cronke, Thurston, a lot more brains out there!

72:14. Hodgkinson ( the only NSW half to break the streak the year before and cool customer who should have been blues 7 from thereon) in the pocket for a strategic field goal to possibly win it and Farrah just overlooks him and just throws it to Pearce who had no plan at that time with a wall of Maroon in front. Ah the good old days of NSW

Ah yes Hodkinson, a noted icemen for goal kicking who won many games by 1 point got into position twice towards the end of this game only for pearce to muck it up

Must be hard for JT, CS, GI, JH, Locky and CC to hear their peers refer to the current players as the greatest in the game when they are NOTHING compared to these greats during this era. Makes me cringe

Who's saying the current players are the greatest?
@of_oniichan77552 жыл бұрын
@@mcgarnacle21 presuming you don't watch much NRL, this can be heard almost every week - either during the game, or footy shows on Fox. Even Cleary is titled as the greatest 🙄 The term is just loosely thrown around at a few players by idiotic B grade commentators, but I understand they also need to sell the game to its audience, and young kids need to aspire to be someone. Nowadays, Anyone that has a good season or 2 is classified as one of the greatest which I feel is real disrespectful to those that have had a career-long level of consistency in the game.

@@of_oniichan7755 I watch heaps of footy every weekend and I don't hear it. Maybe they say it on channel 9 which I try to avoid.

@@of_oniichan7755 probably just mean the greatest currently playing, Cleary may be up there with JT and such but he’s not quite there yet

I think you're over-reacting a bit. I've been watching footie since the mid 80's, and although the current players (NSW) are good, no one really rates them as the greatest - especially when JT, CS, DL, BS are all on the commentary team at NINE.
