Great video mate. These fires are heartbreaking. We live in North West Sydney and the mega blaze (as they call it) up in the Haweksbury has made our sky like yours for weeks. We go 4x4ing around the Hawkesbury, Kanangra Boyd etc and they are all being burned terribly - it's bad. We feel so sorry for those beautiful places and it's animals and the people near them that have lost everything.

Thanks mate. Yeah its been insane, everywhere is just so hot & dry at the moment, no water around. Hoping that will get some good rain soon to clear things up a little

Hey Tyler I've just about to have my 3 year old stx navara sandblasted underneath and resprayed due to surface rust on chassis and suspension components...i dont live near a beach or drive my truck on one.The coatings seem really below average...keep a close eye on yours.

Cool she looks like she's ready for adventuring. Yeah lower pressures on those tires seems to work a treat. They don't bag out as easily as your old tyres. Sweet rig.

I find with my Defender, if you need more than 3rd low, just use high range.
@TylerThompson905 жыл бұрын
Yeah the only thing I find with that is 4th low is that little bit more then 1st high but then to go to 2nd high is big jump and you have no power once you start losing speed
@rogerchambers13095 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tyler, I'm about an hour away from Redhead I'll check it out.

When you're on the sand you should keep it in hi range. You need wheel speed in sand more than grip an that way you won't hurt your engine as much
@TylerThompson905 жыл бұрын
I normally keep it in high range but I find when conditions are tough and you need more then low range handles soft sand conditions better

Good video I was just wondering what sort of compressor do you have and rough time it takes to pump one tyre up from around 12 to 14 psi. The one I have is a repco brand I think it's 150 lpm but it takes about 8minutes for one tyre to pump up then it overheats the pump so it has to cool down whole process is close to 1.5 hours. No fun at all. Thanks for your time.
@TylerThompson905 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! The one I use is a Rydge Rider one from super cheap auto, was just a cheapie one but had it for a few years and has always worked. Takes about 2 minutes per tyre for the 33inch tyres to get from 15-16 back up to 36ish and can do all four in a row

Car setup seems to be working well! I’ve just finished my full build from scratch also - it was a fun process and quite rewarding when it all comes together hey 👍🏼 Looking forward to some flex action. I imagine you have a rack and awning on the cards? I went the rhino bat wing as I’m using a canopy. Good bit of kit

Hey mate are you going to be putting an exhaust on the nav or still trying to find a way round the dpf? Also is it worth getting the stainless snorkel, are they noisy at all ?
@TylerThompson905 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, might get an exhaust on its eventually but not too worried at the moment. Would probably still leave the DPF in and get an exhaust and tune.I like the stainless snorkel but jeu are pretty noisy

My Navara is white like yours and i'm planning on setting it up like yours. Its pretty costly to get good parts in Scotland for it though so its going to take a while. Your videos are getting better every time. Keep up the good work. Have you noticed any difference between the manual in your new one compared to the old one?
@TylerThompson905 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, appreciate it! Na the manual gear boxes are exactly the same in both ones I'm pretty sure, haven't noticed any difference.

@@TylerThompson90 Every time I've driven it, it has been very soft - almost became a victim of the tides once. Ps. I was in a shop one day and saw you go past and almost shouted out "g'day" but then thought "hey, he doesn't know me!"

I find that High range is the best for sand driving, theres just too much torque in low range and you find that you dig yourself in alot.
@Agent.K.5 жыл бұрын
Vglz Depends on the terrain and how the vehicle is moving. In some vehicles you can start from 2nd low or even 3rd if you don’t need 1st.
@TylerThompson905 жыл бұрын
I generally use high range but I find low range works better when the conditions are tough, when the sand is really soft and you need that bit of extra low speed power. Thats just what I find anyway
