I know this very NSX r very well. I tried negotiating for it in Japan. It was for sale for $300,000. The idea that these guys at top rank would try to put $150-$200,000 margin is pretty insane. Get the he feeling they’re trying to monopolise the market and artificially inflate prices

Back in the day when Motorex was selling GT-R's that were newer than the 25 year US import rule, they would charge a good chunk to make it US street legal and be able to register it but these TR cars all look to be 25 years or older so pretty sure there is nothing special required to register and use them but yeah a $200K markup sounds crazy if true. The market now overall is pretty nuts especially for rare sportscars.

Don’t forget that there are fees like high-end shipping, export taxes, import taxes, registration & safety certification, full vehicle rehab and THEN they do the market adjustment. And let’s be honest, if it was YOU that was selling your NSX-R that had paid all of those fees and gotten it into the US and had it on BAT it would be listed at$450K “no low-ballers, I know what I’ve got”. Just like my GT3 I just sold for $45K more than I paid because everyone has to wait a year if they want to order one. Supply and demand.

There’s a red one for sale in the uk for £235000 and a white one sold in 2021 on collecting cars for £160000. Prices in the US are crazy.

7:25 This is an OEM strut bar, although factory ones come in black from what I've seen, so this one may have been painted red. The intake manifold cover has also been painted or powder coated as it's not a factory finish (factory cover has wrinkle finish and is black on C30A models)

Loving your content Larry lately. We are probably close to the same age and like you, I grew up on Option, Hyper Rev books, Best Motoring and Hot Version, any JDM magazines I could source on eBay I would buy but I had to put a stop to it since there are an insane amount to choose from. Watching the Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya and Motoharu Kurosawa racing each other in 3 or 4 lap races along with other prominent Japanese JGTC racecar drivers, it felt like that world was so far away and I would never see those cars here in the US, we'd have to make due with making our cars "JDM" with hard to source parts generally from eBay to get a taste of what it's like in Japan. Keep up the great content Larry, love your channel.

I live in the UK and the white nsx-r went for £160000. And year before one went for £150000. The articles are easy to find on piston heads , don’t know where he got his figures from.

True original late 80s and early 90s AMG cars in excellent condition are pulling some crazy money right now too and Japan has some of the best examples of them. The Japanese have a love for MB and German cars in general as strong as US fans if not more so.

larry i got to say thank you. you are one of few people that will be filming and no matter what he subject is you will always stop to pont out a ruf. you know how much the Ruf family and brand have influenced to tuning world. they have done things that no other car builder, tuners or drivers will ever recreate and have never come close to being able to do what Alois has done. from speed records, the 'ring porno, becoming a manufacturer rebuilding porsches(porsches??**!?) mr. porsche-"sure take or expertly crafted most winning race car in history and totally re-engineering to make it the best drivers car that has EVER been produced, electric porsche before any others thought of electric, becoming to sole porsche type car in all of gaming and ultimately designing and building their own monochoc inboard dampened zero porsche Ruf(except windscreen) as well as being some of the kindest and generous family and employees in the car world. so for you Larry Chen i extend my utmost gratitude for bringing us so much of what we love and migh never have seen otherwise. you sir are almost as much of a hero as the Ruf company. cheers

I think it is NOT a real NSXR as the engine covers does not match not on the top not even on the sides, also the front side is covered below with a full plating. I thin the NSX is a replica someone made for himself in Japan... Also no spare wheel in an NSXR..

There are videos of him you can find online of him driving the NSX to its limits, pretty sure it was at Suzuka which Honda owns, it's from the early 90s but he didn't provide his input from the start to finish of the NSX-R.
