Yeah, usually a JB4 is safe though on other cars with the basic maps (only smaller boosts increase) or at least try to get a custom JB4 tune. Either way, he should remove it.

@@soapa4279 lmao JB4 is good for people who have no idea how to mod a car. They see a "tune" for $499 and think its the greatest thing on earth since sliced bread. But in reality limp mode is all you get with a JB4. Every single person I have ever seen track a car with a JB4 is either standing around because there car is acting up, or waiting for a tow truck because they fucked up. It blows my mind sometimes seeing how people mod the cars. Its almost like who ever spends the least on mods has the best mods. But in reality you gotta pay to play

@@soapa4279 lol jb4s are not safe if it keep throwing the car into limp mode. Limp mode is basically the cars way of telling you something is wrong, you can drive, but fix it. Aka throw the jb4 out. Like I said people see the price and features and the gains that could be had, but don't realize what could go wrong. I get it. Its cheap its easy to use people get it. Bmw owners love them. But bmw owners also love problems which explains why they love JB4 lol. Theres so many better options out there. And if there isn't theres probably a reason why there isn't

@@AaronDaGeoullaG I had a JB4 on my BMW M4 for 6 years with no issues, so I'm one of those "BMW owners." I now have a JB4 on my 2022 Supra with no other mods and also have no issues. It's a simple tool when used right. The people who have issues tend to be the ones who keep running higher maps and assumes it just works. Or they bolt on a bunch of other things like catless DP, exhaust, intake, charge pipes etc. It's littered all over the SupraMKV forums and when asked, the person usually says" Oh I was trying Map 4" and those usually need custom maps. And in fact, a lot of other guys on there are now running custom Map 5 tuned by a guy named Jesse DaBears who's becoming popular, and these cars are making 500whp+ with flex fuel. And the reason some people want it is because they have no choice because their ECU is locked. Or you have to do some silly stuff like sending your ECU to Russia for $2500 and pray it comes back especially right now. And I'm not some JB4 fanboy or sales person or anything, and I'm not saying some people don't have issues (I've seen it too.) A REAL tune is always preferred of course. But when you don't have that as an option, a piggyback system is all you can do or just stay stock lol. For this guy in the video in the NSX, we don't know the full story with his JB4, is he trying to run a custom map with no tune or what. And I already said I agree with you, he should just remove it cause it's a freaking NSX.

@@ianstallings lol obviously. If the ECU was able to be tuned via OBD or Bench flash im sure the owner would have done it. Jb4 is cool if your doing a pull or trying to show up with your friends. Not if your tracking a car and pushing it to the limit. Eventually the ECU will realize that the that the added boost and timing with the conditions is not ideal and will put the car into limp mode. FYI there's a reason you don't see fast track cars running JB4s.... because its trash. People need to understand that cheaper is not better. Just because the JB4 might be the only thing available at the time doesn't mean you should get it, unless your down with limp mode and fucking up your 100k car (in this case). I bet once he took the JB4 off the car ran perfect. He probably would have been able to go faster because the OEM tune on the ECU would have done a better job adjusting for Temps and timing and boost with the conditions.
