Literally had to tune in and deal with commercials, interviews, b-roll footage before the actual music video was shown on TV. It was an event. Gotta love the 90s. Michael Jackson is definitely responsible for setting the bar high and forcing the industry to amplify the creativity behind music videos into being "mini-hollywood action movies".

One of the BTS rappers Agust D just dropped a new music video Haegeum, it's like a whole ass Korean neo-noir crime film with great storytelling. He wrote, composed and produced the song entirely by himself. And came up with the storyboard for the music video. AND dropped a nasty hiphop style choreography video for the song, shit goes hard. The vid is called Haegeum dance practice choreography. There's also a "making of" vid for the music video, it's called Haegeum MV and Jacket Shoot Sketch. Haegeum is a continuation of his older music video Daechwita, which is also like a whole ass movie with great storytelling.

I think he was groomed to be the lead singer on the first album he sang most of the songs. Clearly the best singer in the group, but I think the record companies pushed Justin to the front because he became a fan favorite at the time.
