I would 100% switch up my opinion if they brought out "drift trials" or whatever and those cars aren't banned BUT until then whatever you do in your own free roam lobby or single player events doesn't affect me one bit. The price of the Deluxe being so low, regardless of if it said at the beginning that it included the Racetrack expansion would've been kind of ridiculous in my opinion. I much rather pay for expansions than have it all for free and then have the battlepass and a more grindy economy like we do on the mobile version. The whole reason we were excited for CarXStreet PC was because it was a onetime purchase and we knew it wouldn't have any of the predatory mobile tactics in it. We pay for expansions in Forza Horizon every time they do one and nobody complains about it then, them costing a lot more than 10 dollars, but now it's a problem in CarXStreet? CarX Drift literally sells maps and cars on PC, this is not new. I want the devs to keep the same mindset when it comes to paid DLC, I'll gladly pay for high quality expansions and new cars/clubs/events. I'll support them that way, but if the MINISCULE part of the community that's being very vocal about a 10 dollars DLC get their way and they ruin the game on PC, I'll just stop playing and supporting the devs.

@@callmejay360 I agree man, you get a LOT of game here for the 20 bucks and I think that's because they wanted to community test a lot of this stuff to see what works well. Would t surprise me at all if the price comes up for the console version and they start moving toward a more AAA style DLC strategy. They may even include all that DLC with the console edition like CXDRO. But I'm with ya, I'd rather pay more for the game up front and for proper dlcs than have the p2w style stuff keeping the game afloat. Thanks for the well thought out comment!!

here in brazil the game was a bit expensive... around 100R$ base and 120 Deluxe, and the expansion beeing 50 R$ doesnt help at all.. they could regionalize their prices at least

Ugh that window is disappointing. When it launched I was looking at what the versions included. Then went and talked with my common law partner, because we don't have a lot of money, and I wanted to run the purchase past them, and see what version they would be comfortable with me getting. We decided that since the DLC was going to be included that I should go for the deluxe version. So I did. I didn't reread what was included at that point. Because why would I think it would change? It isn't the end of the world, but it means that I won't be able to experience the Speedway for some time yet

Pardon me for asking, and I’m honestly on the “not p2w” side. So your point is, because you can have better drift cars, you can gain advantage over other players in twitch drift comp to win gift cards? Is this comp officially held by CarX? If it’s not, then it’s a “made up comp”, and imo the one that’s making it p2w is the organizer. But if it’s officially held by CarX, then I’ll agree that it’s p2w. You said something like “lets not limit p2w to a competitive environment” or something, which is also supported by google definition with “p2w not always at top of leaderboard or having best items”. So where would you draw the line? Is p2w not a ‘strong’ term? Or is there no line at all and it’s only p2w because you care a lot about online drift comps and that’s all that matters? Hypothetically speaking, if someone is extremely into the McLaren but can’t drive it because it’s locked behind paywall does that mean it’s p2w? And how about this new club, new elite race to grind, easier money for new players. Kinda the same with “easier handling” drift cars, isn’t it? But I guess nobody really cares, because as you’re saying some players use money cheat anyway. But didn’t you say “advantage is advantage”? And btw I’m not ‘attacking’ or anything, I agree we all can have different opinions about things. I just wanna know where the line is for people that says it’s p2w, because for me the line’s pretty clear: if there’s no official events that you ONLY can WIN BY PAYING for the dlc, then it’s not p2w. @@KAZWL hey man! No pardon necessary, I appreciate the comment. Respectfully, I think your definition of p2w needing only be applicable to official carx events is just too narrow in this instance. I, like most others in these comments feel p2w should be defined as pay-only access to an advantaged setup regardless of where it's used or what it's used for. As for the new club, that's 50/50 for me as the elite race payouts have come up significantly. I'd have to do the math on what someone would earn from elite race griding vs running the new club progression. If it's significant, then yeah I'd agree the club money is a bit p2w, but at least players have other ways of earning money if they choose. Hope that helps!

Which was why I said CarX didn’t make the game p2w, but the twitch comp organizers did. Because to me p2w is a very strong term and a very bad one. Having an advantageous setup locked behind a paywall is simply not good for competition - be it organized through CarX directly or through drift teams and streamers organizing tandem comps makes no difference. You're only going to divide the player base, at the least it creates a very limited meta selection which kills individuality and creativity, making it less interesting to watch/compete, and at the worst creates a class divide between those who can and can't afford to keep up with the latest broken dlc drops. It's right to call out this crap to show that the consumer base won't stand for it becoming industry norm.

I purchased the game with the deluxe edition without knowing the drama around it. But I don't really mind it because I am satisfied with the game considering it's cheap but very enjoyful (so far) compared to other games. I don't have time to play the game yet this week since I was swamped with works but I will gladly purchase the Sunset Speedway dlc because I think it's worthy for price. With that being said, I also think that it is a good thing to critic and talk about the drama around it. Whether it's a misinformation/miscommunication, the developers should know that they shouldn't do that kind of mistake.

i think it would be fine if the prototype parts where in the same buyable vercion of the DLC cars, and that way people can stop saying "pay to win" sense you can get it too in the normal version of the cars (making the DLC a option to buy them withthe parts already bought) but i see an actuall problem latelly other than the obius stuttering everyone is having in SP, after the 1.1.0 update the air ressistance was nerfed to minimun reach 1.95, making cars have a similar speeds and closser races, the problem with this was that any car that had the air ressistance modified before the update they will be still running the old 1.7 air ressistance in the car, making the cars have faster accelerations at high speeds and even higher top speed this makes newer people be in a incredible disavantage unless they running the newer supercars (is why you will see all those light weight evos9, GTRs, etc on a speed track time attack) the newer people cant match those speeds by using the same car sense they miss the oportunity of running the 1.7 air resistance before 1.1.0 i have some cars with the old air ressistance, and some with the newer, and the difference is very noticible (the higher the class, the more of a difference it makes, from C3 to lower is barelly noticible)

in my opinion is eather making a patch that forces all to get updated to the newer 1.95 (slower cars but closser races), or revert it back to 1.7 (Faster but more noticible of difference between cars) is kinda pissing me off not many people arnt mentioning this, i know that some people that take advantage of it wouldnt want it to change, but newer people shouldnt be in a disavantage unless is a newer car im trying to spread the message around bcause this shouldnt be, and im hoping more people catch up to it so it gets fixed

I have the DLC and I 100% agree. Anything better or more advanced that is locked behind a paywall is p2w in my opinion. The steering angle alone makes any drift event in game easier in 2 ways. 1. Harder to spin out/easy to save drift so you aren't DQ'd or lose any points 2. More angle = more points in this game so being able to throw crazy angle without spinning out is OP.

It's only free if you bought it on steam on Aug 29th from 10am to 12pm I think it was? Either way if you didn't buy it in that 2 hour window nothing is coming to you free and if you did buy it in that window you need to email their support team with proof.

I think pay to win is easy to describe if you lock better stuff behind a paywall its pay to win i would understand if its something like you pay to skip the grind but you still get the same parts as someone who grinds for it but if it legit gives an advantage free to play players cant have then its most def unfair

Which I think anyone and every car should have that ability because it makes it for better driving and better tuning overall for anyone.

But what car x did is there making people pay money for more tuning which is wrong because, in Car x drift you don't have to pay $5 to get more tuning stuff. So I just think it's unfair to put extra tuning that should be a thing anyways behind a paywall. (Also to be clear I don't want anyone going to prison 😂😂)

Game is awesome for an open world chill type of game. AI races are just luck based if you can win or not but unfortunately you have to play them to level up/make money for the actual fun part of the game. The grind is a good idea, but theydevs clearly can’t handle AI, not as opponents not as just open world AI. Both are awful.
