Uganda’s hospitality and friendliness of her people have been lauded across the world.
This, coupled with a remarkable policy on refugees, has turned the country into a safe haven for foreigners.
They come to Uganda bringing with them new ideas, new skills… well and culture.

The Eritrean communist dictator has exiled Eritreans to every country in the world and emigration has become so normalized that it has become something of a celebratory phenomena. An eternal shame that will never go away until Eritreans restore their virility and fight for their human dignity and rights and reclaim their impoverished country from the jaws of the junta ruling it.

You’re wrong to make an assumption as such. This is the very problem that Eritrean, maybe not all but most cannot admit what’s right to be right and what’s wrong to be wrong. Stop with the empty pride that didn’t get Eritreans anywhere other than to be enslaved by one man. Blinded by “independence” couldn’t see what was happening to us. Having land means nothing if you can not live in it free! Work to change. I don’t know if you could guess where I’m from even if you do will not be able to verify so stop with the nonsense.

The main reason Eritreans flow to Uganda and other Eastern African countries is because they can't live in their home country because of a heinous dictatorial regime. Eritreans are very hard working, and smart. I left Eritrea a decade ago for the same reason, and am now already a US citizen. There is nothing worse than to live as a second citizen in a foreign country. Uganda and other African countries should start giving citizenship to their fellow Africans (just like the west is doing), and keep the educated brains from leaving. Thanks to the people of Uganda for accommodating my fellow Eritreans during their tough times.

@@AmukalaluThe nilo-hamites must of been chased by the coming tribes from middleast who mixed with indigenous black Africans in Horn of Africa. Indigenous horn were pure Africans before bring mixed and look the way they are ( Somali, Sudan north, Ethiopia, eriteria, djabouti) these were all nilotic or Bantu looking people very long ago.

Luv Uganda & the ppl. Nice people, fertile land, and most have a fear of God as well. Been there a little while ago & Kampala was under lots of building constructions. I guess by now the city is beautiful!

God bless Uganda, this brought tears of joy to my eyes quite frankly. Africa is for Africans first and foremost. God will bless Uganda mightily I tell you for giving sanctuary to people in need. I am not interested in white supremacists from Europe coming to our continent to enjoy what God blessed us with. They have their own continent.

Mr. Kamara thank you very very much for this heartwarming piece on our East African brothers and sisters. This is how I will always remember your greatness as a journalist. (I envy you the few words of the language that you've picked up!!) Also our men should not just greet these wonderful ladies. They should present their credentials, file applications, and prosecute them vigourously!!

Eritreans , Ethiopians and Somalis are peaceful people and friendly unlike our brothers from South Sudan. Those tall guys are not friendly at all they like fighting and so hostile to Ugandans in their country despite of the warm welcome by Ugandans
