How prepared is Uganda for AFCON 2027 | ON THE SPOT

The announcement by CAF that Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya would jointly host the 2027 World Cup sparked a string of celebrations in the three East African countries. The bid, scheduled for after the 2025 AFCON, has also pushed these nations into a competitive race to construct much-needed game infrastructure for Africa's biggest sporting event.
But can Uganda meet the tough bid deadlines and transform the country in time for the event?

It is a welcomed development for the three countries involved, economically. It will be nice all the hosting governments should make entry visas to these countries accessible for visitors outside the East African block without stringent measures.

Uganda's mindsets and individuals time keeping need to change. You can not have an appointment or meeting slated for 10am and 20 minutes later people are yet to be seated. Workers come an hour late to work, so doing will affect construction of the facilities. Orientation for the police and security personnel's need to be refreshed and reviewed to meet international standards. Gentleman, just don't discuss on the sports and infrastructures only. Please have a broader discussions that covers all aspects of hosting.

Uganda has always been a lucky country. Saboteurs attempted to stop CHOGM; it was indeed a success. Even the AFCON will come to pass. I still miss the combination of Mark Ssali, Jioseph Kabuleta, and Allan 'Smoothen' Ssekamate as sports analysts - all round fellows.

Unless they will use Namboole only, Uganda can not start and finish a stadium in 4 years. Mark my words, we are going to sabotage ourselves by the usual greedy people. This is another stealing spree on the way.

You need to put that concern on the team (players and coach) rather than the stadium. Considering there are 3 host nations each nation needs only 2 stadiums as the whole tournament can be played in 6 stadiums total. Am sure Uganda will have available stadiums by then
