NU triumphs over La Salle
The NU Lady Bulldogs snapped their five-game losing skid to the De La Salle Lady Spikers with a 22-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 win in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, April 14.
Vangie Alinsug banged 22 points to lead NU, which got swept by last year's finals tormentor La Salle in all of Season 85 and in the first round this Season 86.
The Lady Spikers, however, were not at full strength as reigning MVP Angel Canino did not play in the match, missing her third straight game.
Bella Belen added 14 points, 14 receptions, and seven digs for NU, which claimed its fifth consecutive win and ended La Salle's 7-game winning run to rise from third place to the top spot with a 10-2 record with 30 points.
