Their pedals are a solid buy. They may not sound as good as the expensive stuff but what I like is the little tweaks they add which go beyond what you expect. Great demo of a nice sounding dual overdrive with easily accessible options for shaping your tone.

@@TT-xd2fu Depends on the pedal as they are referring to Nux as a whole, but yeah, when it comes to overdrives there’s very little benefit in paying boutique prices.

@@TT-xd2fu Depends on the pedal. I own, or have owned, several pedals in the Nu-X Verdugo line. The compressor on the Masamune, for example, works fine but when compared to a Keeley it's noisier and loses more of the high end. I'd recommend the Solid Studio to anyone looking for an amp sim/IR loader but the Boss IR 200 does the job much better. Note I used the word *may* not *do* as well. 😎 Fwiw my favourite overdrives are the T-Rex Moller 2 and Fender Pugilist. Hardly 'expensive'.

@@m.r.e.s.6401 Specific to the QoT it stands up well to similar pedals demoed by Brett recently given its price point. Now I accept that KZbin demos are hardly definitive but to my ears the QoT does not have the clarity or headroom that something like the Nordvang does. In a live setting for the average player in an average pub or club it's not going to matter. If I needed another dual overdrive I'd definitely consider the QoT.

Actually, it should be, "in a live setting, it's not going to matter." It doesn't matter if it is an average player or in a pub. I doubt the people in the crowd will notice or care that it isn't an $800 AnalogMan King of Tone special with high gain on one side with 4 jack option and a Klon Centaur (or even one of the Nordvangs). I have a Triple Gain (two, actually), and it is just a dick swinging contest, at best.

I am so stealing your phrases and licks right now. I took a bit to figure out the awesome chord sequence at 5:57 through 6:06 but man I'm so happy I know what the chords are now. That 8:41 to 8:46 sequence is the next thing I'm stealing.

I have the Atlantic Delay/Reverb. It’s fantastic and actually just sold my Keeley Halo because I don’t hear a difference in the delay quality and the Atlantic is easier to use and has the reverb. Which leads me to say I also sold my Digitech Rv-7 because the Atlantic fits the bill there too. I say these things because trusting affordable pedals is hard to do. But NuX is legit and just wanted to speak about that fact.

With a name like Queen of Tone I expected a cranked AC30 type of tone. Sounds great though! Would you say the Axe3/FM3/FM9 handles outside pedals better than the Axe2/AX8?

It's been a few years since I used the older machines, but I do remember thinking they handled pedals pretty well too. The Axe-FX III is a godsend, though: any amp I want for any pedal/amp combo and it's zero problem. Good fun.

@@BrettKingman Our NZ dealer for Fractal is based in Aussie and asks well over $4K for a AxeFx III. Ouch. I stick with amp plugins or my amps with a Freyette PS-2A and IRs. I do have trouble with input levels into amp plugins though. My Audient interface's DI is decent, but setting the levels for the plugins in DAW makes a massive difference to how they behave. I have to set them up differently for different guitars etc. A pain in the butt, which makes an outboard modelling unit to do the job attractive, because your AxeFX seems to sound good no matter what you throw at it. Fractal should be paying you every time you release a video using it. 😉 But $4k is ouch, and then we have to pay another 18% to import the thing from Aussie. I dunno.

You save maybe 10 to 20 bucks over buying them separately and there's a bit of a convenience factor having them in one box, especially if you want to stack them.

this pedal of sounds okay in all the different modes. the thing I can't get past is the pause that occurs when you turn either side on or off. it's trivial but was enough for me to want to send it back for a refund. As much as I liked all the other features, in my mind they just couldn't make up for that detail. Anyone want to buy mine? Message me

Great features. Unfortunately, I can no longer trust NUX pedals in this form factor. Both their Atlantic Delay and their Space Echo boxes gave me the oft reported problems having to do with their digital controllers that they use internally. Maybe this pedal has since upgraded the typical crap chips that were used previously but I'm gonna guess not. Although at 200 bucks, maybe they did upgrade that aspect because NUX should only be charging around 150 for this.
