I purchased the F12 in orange last summer from Austin Kayak and Canoe. Thoughts: I was very displeased that the kayak DID NOT come with the nuts and bolts kit rendering it unusable. AKC apologized and sent out a kit as a replacement. The replacement kit DID NOT have all the necessary hardware. I then went to Lowe's and bought hardware as a stop gap. I then ordered accessories directly from Nu Canoe. There was a multi-month delay due to the pandemic, but when my order came it was missing a couple of items. I can understand the delay due to the pandemic, but Nu Canoe was most unprofessional when contacted. As a result of the delays, I was unable to use the Kayak until late November. I originally ordered the canoe in late June or early July (it was the last unit at AKC). So basically I wasn't able to use the kayak until 2021. I will never purchase another item from AKC or Nu Canoe. Pros: it is considerably less than a Hobie or similar kayak and easily mounts a 2.4L Honda outboard with the optional baseplate. Cons: see above.

I’m sorry you went through hell. I ended up selling my Nucanoe and recently bought a Hobie Outback. It’s much easier to fish out of.

It’s unbelievably stable. I just picked up a trolling motor for it yesterday and I’m excited to get it back in the water.

Recommendation for using that boat in and around the Waterway and inlet... get one of those orange bicycle flags for visibility. You would be surprised how invisible a kayak can be to a powerboat. Other than that, it's a great way to fish.

I appreciate that. I’m always scanning for boats a wake. This boat is not ideal by any means but it’s paid for. Give me a couple years and I’ll have another larger one.

@@ericwilliamsfishing I think that's a great boat for what you're doing, don't get me wrong. Between that and your jon boat, there's not much you can't fish from the marsh to the Liberty Ship. Plus duck hunting! That Nucanoe should be the hot ticket for slipping into those little rice paddy sloughs and river swamps. The bicycle flag is just a safety precaution for out in the waterway where the boat traffic can be so crazy.

@@Elwing1 yeah man. You nailed why I’ll never sell it. It’s my “beater” do it all. I sold the Nucanoe and I’m about to get a Hobie to start fishing structure more effectively. That Nucanoe was great but I want hands free fishing.

Just recently bought the frontier for duck season, only got to use it once before season ended, but loved it. Bought it mainly for the stability, The lower the seat is the easier it is too paddle. Not sure what trolling motor to put on it.

I did the same and only got to use it once this past season. I think I’ll purchase a layout seat for next season.

Nice video. Would you recommend this for a mid 50 year old 5’8 275 lb duck hunter with a dog?

Thanks buddy. It will hold you no problem and I think you would be fine if you plan on hunting shorelines or shallow water areas. I don’t recommend it if you plan on hunting deep open water. The kayak is stable but I’d be nervous about you trying to get the dog in and out with it being over his head.

Seems as though all the local stores are out of the frontier 12’s and the ones on order are spoken for. Since I’m new to this and want advice on accessories should I wait the 8-12 weeks from a store in Michigan or order on-line and order accessories as I learn more from your channel? Toss the seat your back is going to hurt later on, get 55 lb. salt Minnkota trolling motor and a Optima D27M Blue Top one battery will travel you 5 miles on 5 speed until power decreases, ( Get 2).Those flat water days on the salt don't come very often, it is MF to paddle in 20 mph+ winds with head current, it's a double whammy, plus those oyster reefs are going to eat that hull up like butter, marine grade short strand putty will give it more protection. Your not always going to do sandy beach launches, those concrete ramps will also eat that plastic no matter how hard you try to avoid friction on them. Marine grade will be your friend. Lay double layer of gym mats on the middle of the deck, you can operate that troll motor better kneeling and once you get your confidence up standing, it's a lot more stable than you realize. If you have done paddle boarding or surfing you will feel right at home. Last thing wear your life vest!! The boat is not going topple over even if you try, it's the other A-holes boaters that will wake into you.

I don’t know the exact year of mine because I bought it second hand but the newer ones have more features for sure.
