Finally! Something on KZbin where I can say “Aha! Laplace Transforms would simplify this tremendously!”

Great video! Nuclear physics is one of those subjects that has a reputation of being really difficult and intimidating, but you've done a great job of taking parts of it and making it accessible to a general audience. The whole thing was very clearly explained, with lots of examples to make sure the concept makes sense. I'm looking forward to you making more videos in future.

Differential equations are so easy when he does all the work and provides animated graphs. Sweet! I wish I had material like this when I was studying.

It’s also great to see the application of dynamical systems theory, seeing where there are fixed point in a system of DE, and how the form of the system is independent of the application. For example with a tiny modification, the two step chain is the SIR model of epidemics.

I should have waited until the end to comment, as that is exactly what the matrix exponential is doing. It is exactly the form of a linear system of differential equations. Even if you add nonlinear terms this applies close to a fixed point of a system thanks to the Hartman-Grobman theorem, with the system instead being defined by the exponential of the Jacobean of the system. Go team maths!

And again the memory less property let you classify this as a Markov chain and use those tools. Man, now I wish I’d gone into nuclear engineering. This is so relevant to what I used to teach.

Of course the FBI made The Fast Neutron vanish after he taught us how to build a bomb 😂. It's a shame, I really would appreciate more videos
