If u aren't familiar with her earlier band Eluveitie, their whole thing was playing melodic death metal with a fuckton of folky stuff mixed in including all kinds of flutes and other niche instruments so it makes sense that these guys can pull it off. I know what you mean by adding random instruments lol, some bands sound like they do it just for the sake of adding more instruments there but it doesn't really add anything.

I love Eluveitie and I love Cellar Darling. They are completely different but they are awesome. You may need to listen more of them. I really recommend doing that. Their music is a travel, give them another chance 😉.
