it took me a long time to get over my bullshit attitude about Sepultura not being Sepultura (Cavalera fanboy here) and i have started to go back over the last 20 years of the band. I missed out on some good music. Quadra is an absolute beast. Very glad to have finally squashed my BS. You guys are still just fucking amazing.

The clean vocals in Agony of defeat are really, really cool, i think he should explore more clean vocals like that, mixing those cleans with more fast / agressive songs thru out an album could bring sepultura to another level! One of the best songs in the album for sure!

I disagree with the overall concept and approach of recording and having the producer involved at that level, affecting the song writing and all. This totally diminishes the very concept of being a band and creating music as a band, which appears to be one of the main causes for setbacks in Sepultura's recent works, looking back several years.

Jen has nothing to do with the songwriting. His just guiding derrick on how to achieve what his trying to aim. Thats what producers do.. else why would would a band need a producer in the first place if his just gonna act like the studio engr.

@@ozgun6611 thats not how producers work. They are hired to be the third ear and help in acheiving the band's goal on their creation. Studio engrs are just there to record. In Jen's case he is the producer and the studio engineer... Bands have been working alongside producers eversince unless a member once to act as the producer as well. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Metallica had producers to help them why not Sepultura too.

I don't know about Jen, doesn't really matter much to me... but I think producers may be applicable to other music types..maybe pop music, or where there is no set band and the composer(s) of the songs is someone else/a group of other people.
