I had to figure this out by myself. Didn't realize the time skip during heavy maintenance so that was fun. Feels good to get everything fixed up though and ready to go back online

With the game lacking tutorials or technical guides built-up, I've found your videos very useful. Something I learned which might speed things up-If you are holding either of the shift keys while using a switch, button, or dial, you skip the character/camera animation of them going to the control and save a little time. This doesn't seem to work on the number panels. I learned this by accident, I was still holding shift after running to turn the pressuriser on and the switch toggled without the animation. I repeated this a few times to confirm it wasn't some bug.

The synchroscope is an interesting addition. It doesn't change startup too much that I've seen so far though.

No it doesn't at all other than overall outputting power to the grid... Also shut down hasn't changed in any way as you can ignore the Synchro 100% apon shut down

I might just show how to start the Reactor up with 3 loops going while explaining the Synchro at the same time 😎🤔

Synchro needs a little explaining. With the other loop its like I'll gain generator power and loose it quickly and throws off the Synchro, but reactor is like around 345c-350c. Adding that other loop changed so much. I have a friend that works in nuclear power and explaing this game it feels so foreign to him. Hes at a 1300mw BWR so he not as fully familiar with PWR on this small scale.

Nice! you do not TRIP! (you do the same but not using the button :) ) didnt know that you can let the SG Lvl to get so high in the red zone! I usually open the vent to prevent that from happen

Nah its fine to overpressurize due to the fact they are connected to your condenser so it just flows through. 🤓🫠

No defs DONT TRIP as it vents the steam oit of the turbine into the surrounding room ultimately losing volume in your condenser. 🤔

I'm not 100% sure, but I think by generating so much steam and then bypassing it straight to the condenser is how your condenser wear is increasing so fast. At least, that makes sense in my head. It's doing more work therefore wears down quicker.

In normal powerplant power is reduced and then turbine is going off line from low power but steam is going through it till the end.Bypass valve is usually used on startup not shutdown. @@ShArPy1o1Games

I usually use primary pump speed to control power output- the primary circuit's flow is a direct function to the amount of power being pulled out of the core, so reducing the speed and adding control rod to compensate for the reactivity results in less power and steam at the same core temperature. Real-world nuclear plants don't do this, but that's because they're almost exclusively designed as baseload plants that don't react to demand.

i see ur playing with the resistors switched on, (thats bad practice lol) the reason being its classed as an emergency service so you'll fail the "do not use emergency services" objective when it appears and loose out on a big chunk of points you can safely deliver up to 10% more than the demand without penalty and be able to keep your compliance high, just a tid bit of info for you

How do you know when you need to change the fuel?

When your have your control rods pulled out to 10% or more while the temperature doesn't increase so much... usually 2 weeks per core 😎✌️

Know, that AO doing maintenance doesn't require power, but almost all the fuel in the generator will be used up, when it's done.
