gong is a powerful tool to balance the metals in the body. it will balance the nervous systems and take away or balance fear. either sit with a straight spine and if you are in a chair, both feet should be evenly placed on the floor. or sit on a mat cross legged. you can also lay down. if at any time you feel spaced out, start agni pranayam. you can change positions during the experience. i am looking for a good explanation of agni pranayam, also called breath of fire.

most of these youtube videos of how to do breath of fire are crazy! this is the best one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIXLfnSAm86Fa68 breath through the nose, not the mouth and pump navel "IN" on the exhale. its a little tricky at first. we usually breath opposite. you DONT need to do breath of fire to do a gong meditation. its just an added option, which there are many.

Yes. And alsso during specific kriyas. Usually the manuals mention what kriyas have gong sounds and when.
