Ryan Blackburn discusses a litany of moves made today, including Reggie Jackson getting traded, along with three second round picks, to the Charlotte Hornets in a pure salary dump. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope officially opted out of his contract, so could Jackson's money be used to help re-sign Caldwell-Pope? Ryan also discusses the reported four-year, $209 million extension between Jamal Murray and the Nuggets. Good deal? Bad deal? Let's talk about it. Finally, Creighton guard Trey Alexander and Clemson big man PJ Hall were signed to two-way contracts.

i swear to god if we enter this season with pickett as our back PG, and he doesn't pan out i may cry. Booth is the same guy that said pwatt was better than bruce brown, and then pwatt got dnp'd in the playoffs. Booth better get this right this time.

@@ayjeemusic4528 To be fair most fans don't know why coaches aren't playing guys... it usually has something to do with breaking down in a scheme. Fans just see end results and the athletic plays.

50m dollar players need to have way way more good than down. Jamal is way too inconsistent and has good days 1 out of every 3. For 50m plus you should have a player that can carry your team and Murray really hasn’t been that. It’s not just the inconsistency’s he is out of shape at the beginning of seasons and injured most of them. I feel like he’s 30-40m player 52m feels like an overpay

Exactly. And I don't understand how they're unable to pay extra for KCP, but can overpay for Murray, and all that for no reason. I don't see any other team trading for Murray, because he's already overpaid.

Dude, after everything that Calvin has done, does he really just dump a ‘starting caliber player’ and give away three 2’s? Getting rid of Reggie is a perfect case addition by subtraction. He was beyond awful. And I’d wager Calvin asked all 29 teams if they’d take him and 29 said heck no!

If it costs three 2nds to trade Reggie there is no way they can get off Zeke at 8 mil a year over 4 years. If they manage to a guy like Melton on the non tax MLE maxes sense if they can get into that bracket.

Dick maneuver to do to Reggie, if they were going to trade Reggie they should have stayed put (keep those 3 2nd rd picks)and picked collier to be the back up pg. mpj needs to be traded to keep Kcp. I love the mpj and Zeke for bogdanovic and Issac idea…. Booth seems to be a fool. I hate being a nuggets fan…

Mpj and zeke for bogdanovic and isaac is hilarious tbh. That wont take us anywhere. Guys i think we jus need a real sg. Tbh if we can develop julian i think we dont need kcp tbh and have cb rotate with julian. Reggie was a good move at first for the second rounders but moving up for a backup center makes some sense. Calvin booth on some crack but i just think the only people that shouldnt get traded is… jokic, ag, mpj, and murray (for now) (very inconsistent) but regardless we just need a good bench, a sg, and good backup for jok…

In the last 4 years there has been talk of reinforcements to relieve Jokic and every new season non-Jokic minutes r disaster. Calvin is a terrible GM, 80 percent of the main players were drafted and traded before him. What will happen if Jokic gets injured and doesn't play for 2 or 3 months, I'm not sure who will carry the Denver-Jamal, I'm not so sure. With the loss of KCP, this will be a completely different team, Holmes can be exactly the same player as Zeke, the defense will be 40 percent weaker, and the attack will depend on whether Jamal is healthy or completely out of shape like the entire previous season (I will not listen nonsense about chin injuries and similar minor injuries). MPJ is a player for the regular part of the season and an extremely weak player under pressure (last season, as well as in the season when he won the ring, he had a series of games where he did not hit a single three-pointer - look at the game against Minnesota last year and compare it with this one).

Smart move on Denver Nuggetswith trading Jackson For cash and land the guard they had on the board to make sure his name was still on the list and this player along with bench members ready to make an early move to ensure they landed this part of the draft. I sure believe that these players can come off the bench and hammering the points make that difference show just how strong the bench is fron a first pick in the first round and by the end of this part of the draft was good it’s losing CKP now that got my chin bouncing off the floor as if it were a rubber ball. This is no joke when I heard CKP is going to be back the Joker is a phenomenal shooter long fangs he passes the hall all the way down the court ready to make it a clean sweep we don’t need want to be stars we want players who believe in himself making a huge difference along with his unbelievable big man who plays like a starting guard, able to knock down the threes along withCKPremember last yea the rplayoffs we keep reachin* them so we’re knocking on that door for multiple champions ships we have the right people making a huge difference and it had nothing to do with your cable you have one hell of a Basketball team ready to run up them score nail those three nail cores you never give up when you see players that l ook just like the team that can overcome anything in their way not the jawing under stars who aren’t playing but when they come off the bench and nail down those threes that we saw this year people coming off the bench and scoring Threes as if it were a specialty shot you have muscle memory and just drop threes like it’s giving Candy Bars at Halloween everyone talks about the new neighbors that are extremely kind and generous. I live in New England now I have over 45 in laws that are Patriots fans Bruins fans golfing and shooting hoops dropping 3s as if they were a half inch put a dead drop If we showed more backbone and strong character willing to work across the aisle making everything come true and make your dreams and goals attainable willing to lead the way not wait to be shown then before the decision has gone through nothing is of use for any Politician ready too take the acknowledgment and the responsibility of their party are showing you they are barely ready too set the stage and close it out don’t let the fear mongering the Republicans use all the time. Don’t give a shit to what happens and how very thing is being shut down no excuses just adventure spending three days from Denver through the mountains landing perfectly hitting all the trigger points yet not touching it up against their stories coaching and playing hard but smart yes they are smart now let’s see them go with fantastic moves and setting World Records shame on us….

Absolutely nobody considers that denvers current players can all just get better. You dont always have to look outside your team, sometimes guys just need more minutes to hit their potential. I, for one, think CB+Pwatt+Julian can be better than KCP+CB like we had this year.

Nuggets are simply screwed the rest of this decade. How are they going to improve? They have no tradable picks the next five years. They have no tradable contracts other than Jokic, Jamal and Aaron Gordon - the guys they never want to trade. They lost Bruce Brown, KCP and Jeff Green to FA and for nothing. The Zeke Naji contract is un-tradable and they can't get off it for the next 4 years. They gave up 3 2nd round picks just to lose $5 from Reggie Jackson's contract? Why? Not only has this team plateaued they have no way of getting better without picks or tradable players. They have no choice but to run it back with a roster that wasn't good enough last year and this year is worse!

I hope Murray figures out how to become non injury prone and he figures out how to contribute more than 50% of the time. He played 5/8 of the regular season. Add in the games where he seemed devoid of interest, and 50% is generous. Maybe playing this summer will have the opposite likely outcome, and Murray will actually show up at camp in shape. We could be witnessing the demise of the Jokic legacy, before it ever gets rolling. I hope all my worries are wrong, but let’s be realistic. 😎

Does salary cap not go up every year? Spending more money on Murray was not the answer or a good move. He's hurt all the time, does weird things, sucks on D, only starter that has to do hand jester after a shot and not even old yet. He just not Jokic robin. You all see a different player then I see. Jokic has carried that guy making him look much better then he is. Management looks lost and not seeing championship moves. Let redo Potters deal why we are at it.
