Thank you! I always fight with the Z-depth's lack of AA not matching my render edges. It never occurred to me to create my own depth pass! Doi!! I'm glad there are smarter people than me out there.

Thanks so much for watching. You should check out my stream tomorrow. I show how to use the edge extension node to circumvent the edge problems on a normal Z pass.

You are a great teacher, but is it possible to learn more in detail about how to create that your own custom depth pass what u showed us in the end? And thank u for sharing ur knowledge!

Is the motion blur rendered from 3D itself?
@HugosDesk2 жыл бұрын
Yes, in this project yes. Whenever we can we render MB in 3D. It always give you better results.
@jkartz922 жыл бұрын
@@HugosDesk But it holds the control of customization right and with the cost of more render times right?
@jkartz922 жыл бұрын
Despite the renderer and software, the depth pass is always non-antialised? I thought it's only the case with blender and thta's why people use Mist pass!

can you elaborate what is zdepth pass and how is it created.. is it done by cg artists or in nuke ? i am asking about the red channel image..
@HugosDesk2 жыл бұрын
It’s created by CG, having said that, Nuke can also create ZDepth passes if you have geometry and a camera in nuke using the scanline render but it’s normally coming from CG
