yeah... Aegon III was a child basically just put there to end the war, traumatized by how his mom died that he watched... Aegon IV wanted it but he is called ''Unworthy'' and was a fat glutton, so... Aegon V was the famous ''Egg'' from ''Dunk and Egg'', he was a good king it seems, but had that little accident at Summerhall and it led to his death. Aegon (would be) VI, was either slaughtered as a kid or at the end probably won't be king anyway. And then we have ''muh queen''... At least seems like none of the Aegons after the Conquerer were able to achieve any lasting greatness

Aemond is much smarter than everyone thinks. He wants the throne more than anything, but he still chases his older brother down and makes him take the crown. Why? Because he understands a war for the succession is about to start, during which time the king will have a massive target on his back and a crushing mountain of responsibilities. Aemond hopes to avoid all that, and then take the crown after Aegon, Rhaenyra, and Daemon are all dead. He’s plotting and scheming like a villain at such a young age, plus he’s the most badass looking character on the show.

Honestly this whole scene had me laughing at the sibling dynamics and the tragedy of these characters 😂 Aegon clearly knows he’s in for a life/death situation but is being forced into that position. Aemond knows he’s more capable of the throne than his brother but since he loves his family so he has to bring back his brother although he kinda wish Aegon was already gone. Aegon just laughing at being attacked by Aemond is hilarious cause that moment is weird since going back is facing death sentence, kinda reminds me of Daemon laughing when getting kicked by Cole and Viserys. Well God sure flips the coins on Targaryens, they’re born sadist while Aemond on the other hand is trying so hard to go light on Aegon, he’s not even trying cause if he really does then he’ll end up breaking Aegon’s jaw. Come to think of it it’s also a great play on Aemond’s hand if Aegon is made king instead cause Aegon, Rhaenyra and Daemon would fight to death and only Aemond would remain as qualified candidate. He can get rid of strong boys at any point of time. One thing that this show teaches you, never name your child as Aegon.

People saying that aegon is like Joffrey in GOT…he is nothing like him, Joffrey was a spoiled teenager who took advantage of the word “king” but not the actual meaning, he just wanted the power to do anything he wanted when he wanted (to kill anyone he once he demanded even if the person done nothing wrong, to be rich, to demand luxuries, to insist that everyone around him does what he wants)…he was a stupid child who hadn’t a clue what he was doing and wanted the throne as soon as possible…aegon didn’t exactly want to be king, he was neglected by his father as a child so he never got to experience his future as king, he knew that he didn’t understand the cautions and had so much pressure on him by everyone around him to become king because he was next in line for it so aegon basically said to himself “fine I’ll do it, I have no choice, I’ll learn”, after his child was decapitated he lashed out but who wouldn’t and it drove him to expose anger because of it but you can’t blame him, he wanted rhaenyra dead because his child was assassinated, he immediately knew she was the enemy in the situation (even though it was actually Damon who set it up), he was ruined, angry, depressed, and didn’t care about anything in life after what had happened…personally I feel sorry for him, everything went downhill for him his whole life

I gotta say, the character of aegond is one of my favorite now,the actor who plays him AND him as a character, is meant to look richy, and royal and sophisticated and the way he looks and talks right away I was Luke I can't stand this dude...then he just became awsome! One thing I'd change is Aegon's lines at the end. Make him say "Let me go and I'll take Sunfyre and fly away, never to be found". In the book one thing that's highlighted is Aegon and Sunfyre having the strongest dragon and rider bond out of all the targaryens. Unfortunately we didn't get to see much of it yet (or the younger Targaryens in general), and we've only seen one quick distant shot of Sunfyre for a few seconds. Hopefully the younglings will get more screentime and development in the next season

He won't be allowed that dignity. The writers of the show are women, after all.
