I have actually never seen anyone else that liked TK so much, welcome to the club Numa, the lad has been my fave since i was a kid and i was always surprised to hear he was seen as very annoying by so many of the viewers. (i still am under the belief he was very underutilised in 02 as well) Also yes, queenbeemon is absolute peak, adore her and just the royal base in general, what i would give for an anime or game to visit it as a location like trying to convince her for aid against the villains and having to deal with all the bee mons if she gets ticked off.

My biggest criticism in your methodology is that its unclear what governs the evolution. Is it the tamer and the crest? Is it the digimons inherent characteristics? You swap back and forth a couple times and that makes the ideas feel muddy.

OMG, TK could be the Kari of this group, where he is the one that didn't go with the group to the Digital world at first and later, the Leomon that hunts the group becomes TK's partner when he joins the group later. Basically replacing Gatomon's role before she met Kari, with Leomon.

I think you are missing something. Where is the omnimon equivalent? I am not taking about omnimon itself, but we need a fusion between tai's mega and matt's mega. I can also imagine queenbeemon teasing izzy for fun using her beautiful body just to laugh at izzy's blushing face. Maybe giving him a nickname like "my royal advisor." Or even "my king bee" just to further mess with him.

With Baihumon and Ebonwumon already used I was expecting for Gomamon to be Azulongmon. I am happy with Biyomon getting Zhuqiaomon, a champion for the line could Cockatrimon. Granted Gatomon could have also gotten Azulongmon. But it would have been awesome if Gatomo had gotten either Haunglongmon or Ouryumon.

Biyomon shouldve just doubled down into gryffmon or taken joes tendancy to bribg out ancient warriors (vikemon) and gone valkyrimon for the color match. Because now you have 3/4 sovereigns and my need to complete the pattern exists. Honeslty you could do tailmon -> mihiramon into Azulongmon with tai bringing out the dragon in her (and her og mega is a dragon).

You're correct aboot Dorumon, they were the main protagonist of the Pendulum X movie. Edit: Also I know for certain you can get a Unimon from Piyomon in the first Digimon World, probably other places too. And also you're right aboot Jo. Dude got the crest of reliability, spends almost the entire Adventure series letting everyone down. Granted, they were there during the original 01 show, but... then they consistently let everyone down over all of 02, Tri, and I haven't seen Kizuna but I assume it's the same old shit. I know they crests don't physically exist anymore, but if they did, someone should've taken the damn thing away from him.

I personally don't like the idea of Palmon turning into an insect and Tentomon tunring into a plant. It feels like the partner isn't fully represented in the line. I love the rest of the lines and I think they might work really well if they were swapped, with Mimi getting the bee-line and Izzy getting the wise plant digimon.

I have to strongly disagree with you on Mimi/Palmon and Izzy/Tentomon being just reflections of each other. We see a lot in the first adventure Tentomon not quite understanding Izzy’s tech jargon, and encouraging him to be more social and invested in his friendships, and Palmon does differ from Mimi with being more earthy and grounded, and very giving. I think the unfortunate part is that so much of adventure is focused on Matt & Tai, that the other characters fall by the wayside ((I mean there’s 16 of them, a huge pain to write I’m sure)), so we don’t have as much of a solid understanding of each partnership as we do of Tai/Agumon, Matt/Gabumon and then TK & Kari and their partners with a whole second season.

Ok, my last reply lol. Digimon Adventure is a story about kids growing up, so I think things like “Joe is less reliable than Sora” is missing the point of Joe growing into being reliable. I really liked the video!!

@@AdamLongandTall normally I would agree, and maybe I’m truly just a Joe hater, but it feels like throughout Tri Joe has to try and relearn all the lessons he learned in 01 about being reliable to the people who need him. Again, it’s been a minute since I’ve done a full on rewatch but it just feels like Joe never really learns his lesson.
