Numark Mixtrack Platinum DJ Controller - Review

I have loved playing with the Numark Mixtrack Platinum portable DJ controller. It has a good size while still maintaining build quality. In the review I talk about the jog wheel displays in the decks as well as the quality of the eq knobs and the crossfader. The hot cue and sampler buttons feel great and although I wish they were larger, work very well.

I been looking at this.The center jog display is a seller for me.BUT that said, the golden question I have.I will be getting a control soon.First one ever vs what I am use to.Which is old school record and mixer.I have the Pionner sb3 the 400 and your vid here.What do you say is best overall to get.?Sucks the sb3 and 400 have no jog display but....... I loop and blend alot....

I had an sb3 and loved the overall feel of it a bit more than this mixtrack platinum but I parted with it for 2 reasons. The scatchpad feature on the sb3 was a waste of time and then I really was loving the displays in the mixtrack platinum... which seems like more value for the money. The only thing I miss about the sb3 is the feel and size of the jogs. Slightly bigger and less resistant but it's still a good option.

Hi, it`s soundcard sucks. And i really would preciate that Numark`s people gives the tip for free the demo mode, so it is possible to use it in Traktor, since Serato also sucks in not allowing a second soundcard, uses too much PC resources, and also is not friendly with the browser Thanks

The sound card isn't that bad... sure it can use a boost but remember this unit is powered by the USB only. The quality is still clean just not as loud. I agree on the serato part and I prefer use this with vdj. No issues at all.

@@kudamah Hi, There is a humm, i can`t describe it better, as i turn the volume high. And, have seen in Numark`s website another users complaining about the same, with a video where it is shown. i use an USB extra soundcard, a Motu audioexpress, and sounds really great, so the mixtrak works only as controller. From this sound card, the analog audio is driven to a mackie vlz mixer, that finally send it to amplifiers. The advantage from this set up is that i have another controller with similar output, and also some microphones connected to the mackie mixer, so it is possible to prepare some requirements from the crowd in one controller while playing active with the other, and the output level is easyly accesible in the mackie mixer, also microphones are practical to use. Even, if a laptop collapses, the other one is ready to use instantly, so, no worry about a sudden software updating nor any else. Also, i can play with a friend, or just go to bathroom while another person performs the other controller without touching mine. The only thing i regret, is having bought just mixtrak platinum VDJ, shoul have bought the infinity version, today i have to pay full 300 dollars for make the upgrade. The other controller runs on Traktor Cheers
