you still need to know how to beatmatch by ear, the software doesn't always accurately read the BPM. Also if you are mixing music that was recorded from live instruments, the tempo shifts throughout the songs a lot of times.

Ive just bought one of these just for fun, I was Djing 20+ years ago!! Beat matching is a piece of cake compared to back then but there are plenty of tracks where the software chooses the wrong beat and sounds horrible, I still like to do it with the phones on!!

Okay not to be rude but this is a bad video, so I will explain what you want to know. The video is called beat matching so that is what you want to know. If you want to be a beginner forever just use the sync button. If you want to advance you need to listen to the tracks you use first and in your mind mix the track so you know where you want loops, beatmatch and cues. You don't have to make all the tracks the same speed. Just have fun and a fast beat and slower beat can sometimes make a third beat which is epic.

Hello Dj kit, gamhei one numark II, I know that is less advanced than the Pro II or Pro III, but this tutorial would help me a lot if I had a legend in protugues (Brazil) because his accent with técnincos terms are too strenuous for me to understand , you could use the recursoso (translate you tube) please? For there is not any tutorial in Portuguese!

Can anyone help me with a bit of advice for a beginner? I recently bought 2 powered speakers (built-in amps) for a set up, but am now really unsure what mixer i should buy to go with them. I suppose i had envisioned something like a pair of CDJs, but i wanted to use them with my laptop. Price range would be up to 500ish (€), any advice hugely appreciated!

Beat matching as in lining up the waveforms/bar markers on the software? That is probably one of the easiest things to do as a DJ! I'm not hating, I'm sure you're making this video for beginners, but you've definately overcomplicated it... Basically, press play on the next track when you think it should be pressed (i.e at the end of a 16 bar) and then if the waveforms do not exactly match and the mix sounds off time, move the jog wheel a tiny bit until they do match and it does sound on time! The easiest way to understand is to press Sync and pay attention to what it does to the waveform when you press it (matches the bar marker of the current playing track to the nearest bar marker of the other track). Then you know what you have to do manually with the jog wheels!
@njackson793210 жыл бұрын
Why do people who beat match think they are some kind of technical genius, it's really easy to do on any software. Still it's quicker to use the sync button, there's no pressure at all to beat match like some idiots make out. Worth learning maybe but it's not at all a difficult skill.
@cooknaris10 жыл бұрын
It is VERY easy... Maybe difficult to understand if you've NEVER seen decks before and don't understand music (like me when I started) but once you understand what you're trying to achieve, it couldn't be easier! Took me around 10 minutes to master, if that! And I'm no superstar DJ!
@njackson793210 жыл бұрын
All modern electronic music has a narrow range of bpm, since that is the music most people are playing nowadays beatmatching is easy. I play at several clubs in the North West playing different styles on different nights and with modern software and hardware beatmatching is not a problem at all. if you are using vinyl and with a non-pioneer mixer then beatmatching is quite tricky. But if you are still doing that you really should consider moving into the 21st century. With the numark mixtrack pros you can use either serato or virtual dj, both count and show you the beats so beatmatching can be done visually 90% of the time. I only find myself properly beatmatching when the software messes up and doesn't count the beats correctly. The sync button is there to allow more creativity and I use it to create live mashups mainly, too many DJs insist on concentrating on music and end up playing very good technical but very boring music. That is my insight, my opinion. If you disagree, fair enough.
