You know I sit in lectures and half the time don't have a freakin clue what's going on. I no longer sweat it, because I know as soon as I get to a computer Medcram is going to explain the hour+ lecture to me in ~10mins perfectly.

In my opinion the Absolute risk is the risk of the intervention - the risk of the control. And when you are calculating a NNT you need to use the positive outcome. So the correct answer is 1/(0.66-0.60). It doesn't change the outcome but the NNT is used to calculate the number of people who I need to treat to have one more positive outcome. So I would suggest we use a positive measurement. I hope I'm correct, and correct me if I'm wrong.

Dr. Seheult can you talk about to NNT with regards to covid-19 vaccines? I've noticed that there has been absolutely no news regarding NNT and covid vaxs specifically until about 60 days or so where one or two articles have popped up in the news trying to argue why this medically accepted function of treatment is now suddenly "not that useful" when viewed thru the lens of covid vaccines. I follow your covid videos quite closely and wondered what your thoughts on this might be?

When evaluating the NNT, what constitutes a reasonable upper limit to justify treating when taking into account side effects? When is not taking a drug not worth it? For example, Anastrozole has a NNT of 25, but has horrible side effects. Is it worth taking? Thanks
