You would think this is common sense. I've been saying this to the staff for years and they quite simply do not get it. I always tell them the less water you have to push out of the coat, the faster you'll dry the dog and the better it will look. Then they keep putting the dogs soaking wet on the table and go to town with the heavy dryer. The towel wrap trick works like a charm. We do a lot of setters and when they come out of the crate they furnishings have just enough moisture to where we just have to straighten the hair with a hand dryer and they come out perfect. Great video.

I just love this woman! I had been grooming for almost 20 years before I came across her and felt so relieved as she explained everything I'd been trying to explain to other groomers over the years. And the first one that made me feel like I was doing things right hey that's how I was taught .

I totally agree. I finish most dogs in an hour or less. I don’t use a HV dryer or cage dryer ever.

👏👏👏you CANNOT groom dogs without towels!! Some misguided salon owners are trying to cut out a budget for towel service or washer/dryer, but they don't realize that it's increasing the electricity used for dryers(and the salon temps)and the grooms take longer. Thanks for this from a 30+ year veteran grouchy old groomer🤓

My salon boss only uses small hand towels to dry dogs, so I end up using 2 towels per dog. But it saves SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much time when I do it. My boss gets upset because I don’t do it the way that he does but, I do it about 5 min to 10 min faster than he does. Lol. This video made a big difference for me. 😊

@@5tagcom Wow, that is beyond rude, and childish. I am not even a "baby boomer" if that's what you're referring to. I am not even 30 yet, and that is still beyond irrelevant! I have a brand new laptop with the volume turned up all the way, and the KZbin clip turned up all the way, and I still can barely hear what she is saying. That is all I was conveying in my initial comment, and I wasn't even being rude about it. I think you need to re-think how you speak to strangers on the internet before you even make any commentary. You clearly didn't understand what I said or meant, and instead felt the need to personally attack me because you think the problem must have been on my end. Somehow it must be my age correlating with the poor sound quality of the video! Just wow, people on the internet these days! I'm ashamed to be a part of the younger generation.

A groomer should never grab a dog by it’s ears. Besides scaring the dog, it’s a good way for the groomer to be bitten.
