South Korean numbers station V24 with accidental audio cross talk in the audio (my latest V24 numbers station prediction table can be found here www.tokenradio.net/Radio/Share... ). The introduction music for this time slot is "Thursday Night" by Urban Zakapa. To prevent a Copyright hit on my channel I have trimmed the music to just a few seconds, but the entire song is played as part of the transmission.
Before and after the V24 message you can clearly hear strong audio cross talk on the V24 carrier. This may be from another radio station sharing the production studio facilities or the transmitter facilities. You can tell this unwanted audio is from V24 because when the V24 carrier goes off air the unwanted audio also stops. This is not a case of receiving two stations form different transmitters on the same frequency at the same time.
V24 is one of the last regular numbers stations still in use that continues the classic numbers station format of intro music before the message starts.
This is a regular scheduled transmission (time, day, and frequency) for V24. In this case it transmits on 5150 kHz, at 1400 UTC, on the 18th, 21st, and 25th of most months. With that in mind all V24 time slots periodically do not transmit or sometimes disappear for several months. Also, the schedule of all V24 transmissions changes every year or so, so that what is a valid schedule today may not have been in use a few years ago.
Recorded at my location in the Mojave Desert, California, USA, on 21 April, 2020, 1400 UTC. Receiver used was an RFSpace NetSDR, the antenna used was a 450' Rhombic pointed 310 deg true (towards Asia).
Disclaimer: Many of the radio reception recordings on this KZbin channel pertain to unusual, uncommon, unknown, or mystery signals that might be found on radio, both shortwave and VHF/UHF. Among the subjects covered are numbers stations, utility stations, military transmissions (both in the clear and encrypted / encoded), aviation, maritime, ham radio, CB radio, radars, ionosodes, propagation beacons, ditters, dashers, whistlers, and just about anything else that might transmit, in any mode, USB, LSB, CW, Morse Code, FM, AM,FMCW, LFMCW, etc. Think of it as SIGINT (signals intelligence) / COMINT (communications intelligence) / ELINT (electronic intelligence) lite, the hobby version. All the recordings are made by me, most often at my home. Although there are a few mysterious things to be found here, you will not find anything paranormal, extraterrestrial, spiritual, or mystic. However, everyone can have their own interpretations of the sounds heard, make of it what you will.
