I had no idea about these two effects! Can you use the number that the numbers effects generates in an expression to affect something else, such as a bars graphic chart?

I believe it's only going to return the value of the Offset property, not what it displays in the comp. But yes, you could use that value to drive something else via expressions.

Hi Jake, thanks for the mono font tip! I tried using numbers to generate a countdown from 60s to 0s, but found the seconds didn't actually tick over on the exact second. I was using linear keyframes - any advice for how to fix this?

Unfortunately picking a monospaced font doesn't fix the text spacing issue in playback

Nevermind! I had had to uncheck "Proportional Spacing" for it to work

Make sure you check out the new monospaced number presets that are bundled with the latest version of Ae. They work on normal text layers.

Life saving here, I never know that these effects exist, I used text with expression before... :'(

My exact thoughts. How crazy is it that they set the limit to 30000? Like why not 99999 or let us be able to choose how many number so we can go past a million or billion etc.
