I saw a woman in the grocery store..tall, thin, dark hair, probably early 30's, full length skirt, white ruffled long sleeved shirt like she was from 100 years ago, carrying one of those red shopping baskets. she passed me and I inadvertently let out a gasp and whispered "my god you're beautiful". I didn't mean to say it out loud, she was so beautiful it actually took me by surprise. an angel. a supernatural being. she heard me. SHE HEARD ME. OHSHITOHSHIT she turned, looked me in the eye, and said "what did you say?" not offended, not mad, just a "what was that?" "I said you were beautiful. you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I don't mean anything by it. it's just a fact." I could feel my face getting hot. I knew I was blushing. 50 years old and blushing. she said "oh. thank you. it's not often I get random compliments" I couldn't think of anything to say. I was probably standing there slack-jawed. she walked off humming something to herself. this was just a normal thing for her I guess. I never saw her again.

@@Rhodair thank you. I wasn't hitting on the girl. I honestly didn't really want to talk to her at all. her beauty was... overwhelming. paranormal. like she wasn't of this earth. I wish I had another way to explain it. words fail how beautiful she was. I honestly was amazed I could speak when she asked me what I said. I do wish I would see her again, just to know I wasn't hallucinating the whole thing. there is nothing wrong with appreciating beauty when you see it. too many of us pass so much by or are too busy. no one, on their deathbed, has ever said "I wish I had worked a few more hours instead of watching that sunset"

Not everyone does, and also depends on context. Numi's got it right here, there'll be people you like to look at more than others, but for me at least, I'm no more likely to end up in a relationship based on that "type", because it doesn't affect any of the factors that make a relationship work. Also anyone you really like just looks better

Personally, it's more like I find 90%+ of people (minus masc guys) pretty in some way to begin with. Even if that part was important (it's not) it's not like it's important by pure odds and looks either

@@Erideah Why are we taking into account like 0.2% of the population when we are talking about a generalization ,but truth be told ,not feeling like your partner is attractive is a recipe for a really bad time ,not saying they need to look good ,they need to look good in YOUR eyes ,if that's not the case ,most likely you will either break up or feel the need to cheat ,i've seen this a lot ,people just need to deny that appearance matters ,is it the only thing ? no ,is it important ,absolutely
