Epic. No less than an epic of huge proportions. For anyone reading this and deciding I'm exaggerating or just saying stuff for the sake of saying it, I say to you, have you actually watched this video? How much more wholesome, life-affirming and simply soul-satisfying videos have you watched lately? None. Thank you Andrew. Despite the many years and lifetimes ago, I once lived on the Labrador coast before roads, airports and experts. It was the best time of my life. People need to see what you do now, more than ever. Just my 2 cents worth.

Really appreciate the time and effort to put the vocabulary down. Your trips to the grocery store are never boring. What are the odds of a nanook being on an island as you gather eggs? Are the walking seals worth harvesting? I thought that bearded seals were sought after. You did not harvest it. Any reason? Loved listening to the ice. I have not heard that, in the wild, since many years ago.Thanks for the video. BTW: Parenting: You are doing it right.
@andrewandersen2013
@andrewandersen2013 Жыл бұрын
Odds are pretty good for Nanuk on islands closer to the open sea but there where we were not as likely. The crawlers are worth harvesting for the pelts and if they're still fat enough they're good to eat. We had our minds set on ringed seals that time we had 4 and were trying to go after one last one for 5 so we didn't bother that bearded one. Thanks for watching and nice comments

Amazing simply amazing videos. I was born in the wrong place to the wrong people. I would love to have been along with you on several of your hunts and Wood gathering. I gave my son, a single shot 22 when he was one year old. At four years old, he was not as good as shot as your son is. But later in life, he turned out to be far better than myself. I shall continue to watch your videos and look forward to them. Stay safe and May. God bless you and your family. ✌️🇨🇦

Thank you! I like 17 calibers a lot for hunting small game. 17HMR for ptarmigan, otter, foxes. 17WSM for seals. 17 Rem for geese in the spring. Use 22 mag for seals too and 22 for ptarmigan. 243 for wolves, caribou, black bear. Used 308 for Polar bear and moose
@johnseptien3138
@johnseptien3138 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewandersen2013 Thanks. Is there a particular brand of firearm you prefer? Your caliber choices indicate shot placement is vastly more important than large caliber powder burning magnums. I would imagine seal hunting requires headshots as a seal would sink if shot in the body...correct me if I'm wrong.
@andrewandersen2013
@andrewandersen2013 Жыл бұрын
@@johnseptien3138 Seals sink different ways sometimes. If the water is salty enough they'll float very good, if it's too fresh they'll sink very quick. If they're too skinny they sink faster and if they're very fat they float hard. Savage makes good 17 rimfires, tikka I like, and browning 22's. Anything really I'm not picky as long as the gun works good
@johnseptien3138
@johnseptien3138 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewandersen2013 you must get into some really cold conditions (below zero), what do you use for lubrication on your firearms so they don't get sticky or freeze to the point of non-functioning?
@andrewandersen2013
@andrewandersen2013 Жыл бұрын
I don't use anything special, just regular gun oil if I need to. Some guns freeze up pretty bad and others I never had freeze up once. The savage .17 rimfires I owned never froze up once in really cold conditions so I like them for that

i really want to adopt this kind of lifestyle as i have been eating raw meat since november 2020 when i was 17 for health concerns, i believe modern society is very toxic. my dna is 100% macedonian, fortunately the colonizers (germans, irish, and british) who destroyed the remaining natives of north america to some degree, i am not part of thankfully. i really want to eat raw seal fat and raw seal meat to see if it’s worth it to move to alaska, canada, or greenland when another manmade pandemic hits. i am extremely grateful to you, for these videos for me to learn the truth about life we today in modern society are never shown. if you could possibly invite me one day there, or i can go to canada for summer and i can get some seal that is extra that your family won’t need for survival, that would be cool, even just a few bites i would like to try. it’s very important for your family to eat the animals raw, especially the fat to keep warm and get as much nutrients as possible to endure the climate during the winter, that’s what all cultures around the world have been doing since the beginning, it’s not just the inuit who eat raw meat. the inuit who are true that are left eat everything raw because they know they cannot survive without every nutrient staying intact and not being destroyed with heat, speaking of heat, though your climate may seem harsh, it’s much much more harsh to be in a hot environment and facing dehydration and severe dryness from the strong sun in the tropical climates, i’ve been there and also lived in northern usa for a good portion of my life being 19 years old. i am not sure if there will be any inuit remaining in the couple of decades to come as the world moves forward. i may seem like an outcast to say i’m not inuit blood but we are all human, and there’s no other people i relate to on this earth other than those last remaining people who are connected to nature. so much for me to learn from you and so much for you to learn about the evil of today’s modern world if you don’t understand it fully yet, why people watch your videos.
