This song brought a flood of tears to my eyes, as I remembered the girl I love, a beautiful Meitei girl from Singjamei. My story is one of a shy and introverted person who keeps his feelings hidden, but my heart was forever changed when I met her. It was my first day at a new college in Delhi, and I was sitting alone in the corner of the classroom when she walked in. Her smile was radiant and her concern for me was palpable. As someone with similar Mongoloid features, she immediately approached me and said, "Hey! What are you doing here, today is your first day." That smile, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by it. As the days passed, we grew more comfortable with each other and began sitting together in class. We talked about everything under the sun and our friendship deepened over time. Eventually, we fell in love but she was scared that her parents would disapprove of her being in love with a Chingmi guy, as the differences between the two communities had become more pronounced. Despite her fears, we were in a relationship for more than 3 years until her parents found out. She was scolded and was never allowed to return to Delhi, and her contact with me became unreachable. It's been 9 years since then, but I still think of her and miss her every day. I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to see her again, but the love and respect I have for her will last until my dying day I have met other girls since then, but she will always be my first and last love. I don't know how to end this, just as I don't know how to end my feelings for her. Sonia, I love you so much.
