THE VANUATU TRADE COMMISSIONER JOINS NUNGUA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AS THEY CELEBRATE THEIR 37TH SPEECH AND PRIZE GIVING AND 63rd ANNIVERSARY.
His Excellency, Amb. Prof. Hugh K. Aryee, the Trade Commissioner of Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana shared in the 63rd Anniversary and 37th Speech and Prize Giving Day of Nungua Senior High School as the Guest Speaker of the august occasion. The theme for the celebration was “The Synergy of Knowledge and Innovation: Empowering the Next Generation”.
The TC in his speech shared a practical insight of how he had an encounter with a former head of state that made an impact on his life. He as well admonished the students to take their studies seriously most especially the French Language that has become an L2 of most job and working requirements across the globe.
And as well make good use of recent technological advances to add value to their studies. One of such is that “Innovation and intangible assets such as Intellectual Property (IP) will increasingly drive the next lap of global growth. As an economy with infinite resources, Ghana cannot compete globally based on size or price” he opined.
The Headmistress of NUNSEC Mrs. Regina Tetteh in her speech outlined the successes and shortfalls of the school. She made mention of the school qualifying to the one-eighth stage of the National Math and Science Quiz, emerging victorious in sports, cadet, music, debate and writing competitions.
She then ceased the opportunity to call on stakeholders to come to the aid of the school in arears of furniture, vehicles and sports field among others.
The Senior Head Boy’s Prefect as well threw light on the school’s improved performance during the recent WASSCE examination. He again laid before all and sundry to come to the aid of the school in the provision of a well refurbished and well-equipped state-of-the-art science laboratory as he delivered his speech.
A Five Thousand Ghana Cedis Cheque was donated by the TC on behalf of VTC GH to the school as an educational endowment fund.
The President of the Nungua SHS Old Students Association (NOSA) thanked the TC for such a wonderful gesture and as well walked him into the NOSA hall of fame by presenting and decorating him (TC) with a branded NOSA(ABLADE) Sash.
In attendance were the NUNSEC Cadet Corp that gave splendid performance to the admiration of all. The school’s Choir that also sang melodious tunes to grace the Programme.
Teachers, Parents, Present and Past students, Representatives of Government and Corporate Institutions and well-wishers were witnesses to the successful celebration.
