Hello Joan, can the same results be achieved with the Gentle Roller machine? (It is on my wishlist, and it is also important to me to be able to create textured pieces like the one you are showing here)
@jonicornell-mersilk2 жыл бұрын
Of course. I use the Gentle Roller exclusively these days. You can see my Facebook page Joni Cornell Merino-silk Apparel for more of my work made on the GR. I'd intended to update my video but there are videos on The Gentle Roller website showing how I use the GR to make a scarf. I'd also encourage you to check out the photo gallery on The Gentle Roller website for some outstanding work made by other users of the GR. www.gentleroller.com.au Cheers

I got the bubble wrap from a company called Sancell Pool Covers that have a factory in Carrum Downs, Victoria, Australia. I have in the past called & purchased off cuts from them and pick it up from the reception area...but you can use any pool cover, which tends to be quite firm. As you can see I use it like a large scale wash board and don't wrap the felt in the bubble, as it's too stiff and makes rolling awkward. Hope this clarifies, Cheers Joan

Sorry didn't notice the second part of your question. The template is made of paper. It was only used as a guide to get my different fabric pieces together. I wanted a particular shape and also particular dimensions

HI Joni, This is great. a bit of feedback. It is hard for me to concentrate on you with the music as loud as it is. Is there a way to take it down 1/2? also, what is your template made of? Thank you, Jamie

Hi Joan... I've seen the other videos and it turns out beautiful. Is it absolutely necessary to sew the individual pieces together, or could they be solidly connected by the wool during the felting process?
@jonicornell-mersilk11 жыл бұрын
Hi Kayla I'm sure you could particularly with a small piece but I find that the sewing saves a lot of hassle - even if you just tack. You'll find working with silks, that they're slippery and they move. If you wanted to not sew I'd make sure that the edges were 'glued' with the fibres before proceeding with the rest of the laying out. Try it with a small sampler/swatch and see how you go. Cheers Joni

Love your video but it is difficult to hear you. Perhaps you could speak a little louder. I would love to see more. Perhaps how to start as a beginner. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope to see more of you .
