I like how they're all jamming at the end. I also like that the guitar solo part isn't annoying and overly drawn out. That with the synth is just incredible.

I love the part about the complimentary shrimp cocktail. I feel as if it's very true, though.

3:12 to the end is sublime. The whole song is interesting but this section, Emily's lyrics, Jimmy's falsetto, leading to the incredible solo, the breakdown after, and ends with "it's a one room city yeah" I'm not a kid (although I'm commenting from my kids abandoned Geometry Dash YT channel), this ending is some of the best shit to ever happen in modern music history. The feeling, the musicianship, it transcends. I'm not new to Metric either. This comment comes after many many years of enjoying their new/rock wave from their earlier days. 20+ years now I come back to this. Just like I come back to old Tame Impala.

I kinda love this version - the bassline gets a nice solo in the beginning - sometimes I feel as if he's kinda lost when Jimmy Shaw is just shredding away and Emily's playing the synth

man this place should have invited all of us metric fans to hear them instead of these deaf zombies in the audience. i would have been jamming out to this in the crowd!

@aplasticcup06 I think it's 'cos it was one of those myspace "secret shows", but if they gave me one upon entry I'd be rocking myself (then)

Yeah, his falsetto is not very strong in this song. Still, it's an amazing performance. Fantastic solo.
@aplasticcup0615 жыл бұрын
Whats wrong with these people! Did they all get a spliff upon entry or something?
@nunzilla16 жыл бұрын
You still don't know what you're talking about. More than one note is being used. In addition, more than one riff is being used. But enough bickering over the bass line. I'm merely pointing out that your criticism is invalid.
@nunzilla16 жыл бұрын
Don't you feel ridiculous? It's okay. You have an opinion. It's your opinion. But don't act like it's based on fact, or the complexity (or lack thereof) of Metric's new take on their old song. And if we're going to go throw our classical training around...I am a classically trained violinist/cellist and have been playing since I was 3. That's 20 years. Neener neener.
@nunzilla16 жыл бұрын
The wanky bits? Are you referring to the amazing improvisation? Keeping the bassline all the same note? You mean the same riff? The album version is considerably different. In most cases, I am one to argue that longer song does not equate to better song, but with this one I'm going to have to disagree. This is a 5-star take on a 3 star song, hands down.

Better get someone to sing the chorus
@dilcue15 жыл бұрын
Jimmy's guitar solo is killer, but his voice is nasally and he has a tough time hitting the higher notes. I think his falsetto is decent, but in "Rock Me Now," some notes are simply out of his range.
@MacedonKing14 жыл бұрын
The Guitar player James is terrible singer here. I don't know why :(( Doesn't sound as on the record ??
