NUOVA VESPA 500 CHALLENGE - 2021 la Sfida Piaggio!

Vespa 500 Challenge Piaggio… specie dominante! - Concept/Rendering ed elaborazione grafica di Tommaso D’Amico, architetto, designer. Piaggio nel 1972 presenta una nuova ammiraglia per la prima volta nella importante cilindrata di 200 cc. La Vespa, denominata Rally, incantò intere generazioni, essendo il mezzo a due ruote più sportivo e potente della casa di Pontedera. Nel video propongo una versione futuristica e più prestante del leggendario scooter Piaggio in un modello che ho denominato 500 Challenge. Con l’operazione di restyling su base Vespa ho cercato di non ignorare le caratteristiche dei modelli precedenti, anzi ho evidenziato ed accentuato le tipicità proprie delle versioni del passato. Il poderoso motore, discendente dal collaudato Piaggio X9 di 500 cc viene associato ad una ciclistica appropriata: ruote da 15 pollici, efficaci freni Brembo ed avantreno e scocca adeguati all’ aumentata potenza. Altri particolari evidenziano l’aspetto aggressivo e al tempo stesso affascinante del modello, come la colorazione beige chiaro della scocca che ricorda le tonalità pastello di un tempo. I toni scelti per vari particolari, quali cerchi, cornice fari e cuciture del sellino in pelle ed alcantara, danno al modello un’estetica attuale ed accattivante. Da notare il rigonfiamento della zona sottosella che dovrebbe lasciare posto ad un grosso ammortizzatore centrale posteriore ed i vani ricavati, anch’essi alla base sopra le pedane. Il concept ideato dovrebbe rappresentare, in assoluto, il modello più potente e veloce delle Vespa finora prodotte.

Vespa 500 Challenge Piaggio… dominant species! - Concept / Rendering and graphic processing by Tommaso D’Amico, architect, designer. Piaggio in 1972 presented a new flagship for the first time in the important 200 cc displacement. The Vespa, called Rally, enchanted entire generations, being the sportiest and most powerful two-wheeled vehicle of the Pontedera house. In the video I propose a futuristic and more powerful version of the legendary Piaggio scooter in a model that I have called the 500 Challenge. With the restyling operation on a Vespa basis, I tried not to ignore the characteristics of the previous models, on the contrary I highlighted and accentuated the typical characteristics of the versions of the past. The powerful engine, descending from the tried and tested 500 cc Piaggio X9, is associated with an appropriate chassis: 15-inch wheels, effective Brembo brakes and front end and body adapted to the increased power. Other details highlight the aggressive and at the same time fascinating appearance of the model, such as the light beige color of the body that recalls the pastel shades of the past. The tones chosen for various details, such as rims, headlight frames and saddle stitching in leather and alcantara, give the model a current and captivating aesthetic. Note the swelling of the underseat area which should give way to a large central rear shock absorber and the compartments obtained, also at the base above the footrests. The concept conceived should represent, by far, the most powerful and fastest model of the Vespas produced so far.

Bella la vista laterale, qualche dubbio sulla sella che sborda molto. Vista frontalmente le frecce concorrono a formare l' aspetto di un viso che personalmente non trovo gradevole. Nel complesso sembra equilibrata (sella e frecce frontali a parte). Complimenti, progetto interessante.

If this is the design Piaggio wants to continue in the future with, I'm out. Remember Cosa debacle? The front mudguard seem to be drawn by a designer who took a break for lunch and never came back to finish it. I am keeping both of my PX200 and the GTS300.

@@TommasoDAmicoTDA Sorry don't want to sound too "precious" or negative. I just hope the new design draws more on the clues and lines of the original. Piaggio has been moving away from it slowly with every new edition released after the P/PX model. They explored modern and futuristic designs at the expense of the heritage. Cosa model was one example, the scooter looked anything else but a Vespa. LX was goofy, first GT models 'over the top', etc. Vespa 948 tried to go back to the roots and suceeded to a greater degree. Keep it simple, curvy and attractive :-)

La linea dalla vespa è ormai un mito intoccabile, mi piacerebbe vedere un disegno di "rottura" fuori dal coro con linea sportiva e luci tipo fessure a led sottili, si lo so la sportività non ha niente a che vedere con vespa, ma infatti diciamo design fuori di testa😀😀 ci divertiamo a farlo? Intanto non lo producono e non penso proprio che perderesti onorabilità, ai miti del design tutto è concesso, anche andare a cercare nuove "nicchie"

@@TommasoDAmicoTDA That classic style of scooter is meant for Urban or suburban use in busy traffic ,they don’t require an engine any larger than 125 -for normal flat roads & 200cc for regular carrying of 2 persons or steep hills .Those type of scooters only have short wheel base & tiny little wheels made for tight turning around traffic jams in city’s. They were only built for top speeds of 50mph (80kph ) - 60mph ( 100kph ) .A proper motorcycle or maxi scooter is much more suitable for engines larger than 200cc .

Carissimo grazie per considerarmi so che aggiungere una ruota di scorta non sarà un'impresa facile però credo che ampliando un po' le fiancate e modificando la marmitta credo che nella fiancata destra sarebbe fattibile e le dimensioni più amplie delle fiancate non si vedrebbero stonate se si aumentano anche l'intera struttura già che si tratta della top di gamma in tutti i sensi . In poche parole bisogna fare un vespone . Un abbraccio e in bocca al lupo.

Ciao, Mario, essendo un concept da me progettato non puoi dire che sia in plastica. La previsione da me fatta, essendo di cilindrata superiore, prevede una scocca in metallo. Bella non so voi ma io quando vedo una vespa rimango esterrefatto dalla bellezza anche retro possiedo unvespa px 200 arcobaleno e da poco ho comprato nuovo il beverly 350 sport Turing 2021 Piaggio per tutta la vita da ragazzo quando avevo 15 anni che ho iniziato la mia avventura con la mia prima vespa 50 tre marcie e da allora è diventato amore per sempre secondo me può tenere testa il tmax della Yamaha che per le cose giuste hanno una tecnologia molto avanzata , ora datemi un consiglio come dicevo oltre un px 200 possiede pure un beverly 350 di ultima generazione ma la passione mi porta a guidare la mia px sapere spiegarmi perché , secondo voi dovrei consultare un psicologo ? D’altronde che piacere c’è guidare un vespone degli anni 80 contro un beverly di nuovo generazione 2021

Buongiorno Angelo, ti ringrazio per l'interesse che stai mostrando per la mia proposta, ma i video che posto sono elaborazioni di concept, delle idee che propongo a scopo dimostrativo, non hanno alcun legame con i programmi delle case produttrici; le creazioni sono delle rivisitazioni di modelli che a me piace veder realizzati, ma solo in video. La Cosa Piu' Importante e' che NON Abbia quelle RUOTINE Stupide da Vecchia Vespa ... ma Almeno da 14" !!!! Seconda Cosa DUE BEI FRENI A DISCO MAGGIORATI E OTTIME SOSPENSIONI ... CON QUESTE 3 COSE "NECESSARIE" ... POSSIAMO SCUCIRE LA PROBABILE GROSSA CIFRA CHE CI CHIEDERANNO !!!!!!!

Buonasera Salvatore, le ruote sono previste da 14" e tutta la scocca, come chiarisco in descrizione, dovrebbe essere adeguata alle nuove potenzialità; chiaramente nel disegno è impossibile fare dei confronti, ma il concept è maggiorato rispetto alle sorelline attualmente in commercio! Se non fanno un nuovo telaio per le ruote da 14” questa nuova Vespa 350 e 500 non la faranno mai perché le ruote da 12” sono troppo piccole e pericolose

Buonasera Maurizio, ribadisco ciò che ti ho risposto nell'altro progetto. Le ruote sono previste da 14" e tutta la scocca, come chiarisco in descrizione, dovrebbe essere adeguata alla potenziata motorizzazione; chiaramente nel disegno è impossibile fare dei confronti, ma il concept è maggiorato rispetto alle sorelline attualmente in commercio! Vespa needs to provide a foot operated brake pedal. Loosening your grip on the handlebars to operate brakes is counterintuitive and not safe.
