A baby but with a pool comprising of the most senior & most experienced political leaders in a region called Buganda (on the opposition side)? Not entirely true. A party is comprised of individuals, not buildings. How can u attract and comprise of sm of the region's most senior n most experienced opposition politicians & still be a baby party? Quite not logical. This needs to be rethought. Those guys have been here playing active politics longer than anyone else. Even b4 Besigye came onto the political scene! They have been coming together to do politics under different formations except that in 2020 they came together & coalesced under smthg initially named People Power & later on NUP. That xterisation & excuse of baby party ought to be rethought & disregarded. How does an organization comprise of Muwanga Kivumbi (in politics since 1995/nearly 30 years ago), Betty Nambooze, Medard Segona, at some point Mukaku, Moses Kasibante, Mabike, Kenneth Paul Kakande, John Mary Sebuwufu, Mulyanyama, Sserunjogi Oweddembe, Mberaze, Tonny Sempebwa, Betty Naluyima, Mike Kakembo, Mathias Mpuuga, Brenda Nabukenya (was Kyambogo University Prez as early as 2003), Moses Katabu, Betty Naluyima (was in politics long b4 Ssemujju Nganda joined), Erasto Kibirango, Paul Mwiru, Mufumbiro/been in this politics since 2007 etc etc and proudly demand to be called a baby organization? These have been at it for decades b4 even NBS TV was thought of! NBS wouldn't be excused calling itself a baby organization! Then imagine all those seniors, veterans coming together under smthg called NUP, under which they carry on same work/politics thy have been doing prior for decades, and demand to be called baby organization! Yes as for Bobi Wine, the PP, is new in this politics but the party ought to be a collection of all these veteran political players & not just him as Principal. Even Joel Ssenyonyi stood for MP Seat/central youth as early as 2011. For heveansake this is almost 15 years ago. He joins others to hv a party and we conviniently sit smwhere and demand to be called a baby organization. Really? NUP might have inadequacies yes which ought to be accepted and explained away on sm other grounds rather than the claim of being a baby organisation! We can't hv competitive elections for flag bearers etc because we are still a baby organisation. Really? Where is the honesty? Minimum honesty! FDC was formed in 2005 & in tht same year it had a proper delegates conf at Namboole where Alice Alaso & Beti Kamya competed for SG. In 2010, barely 5 years later, thy had a campaign & elections at Namboole where Gen Muntu fiercely competed wz Dr KB initially for party Pres and later on 4 flag bearership. All this happened within their 1st 5 years. NUP, at 5 yrs, can't even have grass root elections. Mbu they fear infilitration by the junta. Total dishonesty. How do u give to Ug what u cant do inside yr organization? Its called DECEPTION! Please open up, improve corporate governance, have a constitution, functional party organs, internal debate, open methods of work, inclusiveness in decision-making and even make all positions in yr party competitive! Its as simple as that. Corruption as alleged by Mpuuga! Imagine. Even mere allegation is bad enaf and u only cure it thru open methods of wrk. U open up and pipo have robust discussion. Hw do u hv moral authority to demand for instance that the appointments comt of parl be done in the open when u cant do basic things such as holding real mtgs of party organs, not being able to empower yr party organs to be the one to mek decisions & its instead one individual and a few cronies making decisions? He comes up wz his template and its upto the rest to find a way to fit in; that b'mes the norm simply bcoz we are so terrified to insist on the right thing simply bcoz we want positions, tickets 4 the next election!
