I would say it takes extra balls to drive with ABS enabled on a racetrack. :) When you watch crash compilations You can see many crashes could be avoided if driver could just simply lock all four wheels and slide straight forward.
@Flowrazornapalm6 жыл бұрын
Driving without ABS on stock cars is much safer on racetracks in case of a spin.. Thats why Racecars have so called "Race-ABS"
@motormans26 жыл бұрын
Sein Schatten i think you are meaning the esp not abs, abs= anti-lock brake system, esp= electronic stability brogram
@edlingja16 жыл бұрын
I don't have ABS on my car and I prefer it that way. No traction control, or stability management. Just me & my limbs to save my family from danger :) also, you can have your master cylinder tuned (modified) to enable custom braking lines. Normally, front disks & rear drums have a front bias that disappears with increased pressure. The lines run to each wheel are normally different diameters, or at the very least the fittings have restrictive openings for one half of the car.

Lots of keyboard warriors here. It looks to me from various points in the video that this car has an imbalance, namely too much grip at the front compared to the rear. He is often fighting oversteer on corner entry, which is expected under heavy braking, but not when coasting. BMW’s, and E36’s specifically are not know for lift off oversteer. They are actually prone to understeer, and you have to get on the brakes deep into the corner in order to get weight over the front wheels and counter that. You often see BMW’s which have used the brakes too deep into a corner get snap oversteer on entry, you don’t often see a BMW lose the rear on entry when coasting or applying throttle. (Very high power models can lose grip on entry due to power, a 325 is not one of them) I would recommend the driver figures out why his car is so unbalanced. Perhaps poor rear tyres, suspension setup, or other factors. It is a very loose car which is not ideal. He should be able to create oversteer by driving input, but shouldn’t be fighting it involuntarily.
@romeosherman53776 жыл бұрын
Sorry your are mistaking oversteer and understeer. Braking in the corners = more weight to the front tires = understeer, not oversteer! ;-) This driver makes always the same mistake, almost in every corner. In Fact at 4:24 and again at 7:44 he is making exactly the same mistake. He turns into the early to fast and is shifting or acceleration in the beginning of the corner , thats not very good for fast laptimes since it evokes overster. The is turning to early, to fast and every time he needs to steer 'open' and close it again. The is creating an unbalance from left to right. At 7:44 you can clearly see that the understeer that occures is not the result of bad car configuration or a bad suspension but is 100% but because he is entering the corner to early. and at 4:24 you can clearly see oversteer due to downshifting at the wrong moment in combination with to early cornering. So the car seems perfectly balanced!
@experiencewithmartin9726 жыл бұрын
I agree with this. I noticed the same .
@daldrete016 жыл бұрын
Richie Speed could it be that the rear tires had too much wear in them? Or pheraps something might have been spilled in the track
@centralintelligenceagency90036 жыл бұрын
Robi Struyf "Braking in the corners = more weight to the front tires = understeer" WRONG You've never driven a car hard, have you? The only scenario in which braking while cornering doesn't cause oversteer is when you lock up the front tires. More weight on the front tires because of breaking means they are forced into the tarmac, increasing their grip, while the rear tires are getting lighter, decreasing their grip.
@wronabeats6 жыл бұрын
@@romeosherman5377 lmao what u talkin bout. More weight to front - oversteer. The car turns more than it should, so its turning too much - thus we call it OVER steer. When car couldnt turn and run out of the road, its UNDERsteer
@TeflonNapkins5 жыл бұрын
He got off the gas, unsettled the car. Makes the same mistake again at 4:24 Bad habit
@steve174 жыл бұрын
Actually, I think the mistake at 4:24 was caused because of him not revmatching properly, locking up the rear and fucking up the weight distribution. You can hear (and see) the engine's revs actually going up, not down. Only after that did he let off the gas and made things even worse. EDIT: After watching it a few more times, yes, I agree he did let off the throttle at the inappropriate time, but my point about the lack of revmatching still stands.
@edwilko88194 жыл бұрын
I think his tyres started to go greasy
@jujurm3 жыл бұрын
Thats lift off oversteer for you :) issue at 4.24 to me is not the same with the last one first time its lift off that transfer weight to the front, and quick turn imput that unsettle the rear looks like the last one, thats a very sudden lost of grip on the rear, car looked to be getting in the turn quite well, but only the steering imput before the apex unsettled the rear, maybe something on the track .. the oversteer snap was very brutal
@ronaldo198323 жыл бұрын
True.
@nikoweindel11983 жыл бұрын
@@jujurm The last one was lift-off oversteer too though. He aggressively stabbed the throttle shortly which unsettled the car (probably the damping also played a role as I mentioned above). Shows once again that you have to be super smooth to be quick (at least if your not Senna lol).
