I'm 61 years old and decided to go back to school for my masters and then DNP. Some people ask me why and that I'm crazy. I love nursing and like her I have a lot of experience in all areas as a bedside nurse and I think us never to late.

I’m an ER nurse. It’s the only nursing I’ve ever done. I love you nurse Blake but we are NOT just coughs and colds and rashes. We know how to save people too, and at my hospital we often care for the critical ICU hold patients that ICU has no room for - on top of our level 2s and 3s. In fact when there is a code in ICU it’s our ER team that comes running. This past year during Covid we had an ER full of ICU and tele hold patients. ER nurses do it all. We are not just an urgent care.

Yeah! Started REALLY insulting to ER Nurses and didn't get much better! Your TWO ICU patients might have immaculately-labeled lines, but the THREE ICU pts I'm holding myself in the ER because y'all cap out at 2/nurse are getting equivalent care!

The er is also closer to the hospital exit doors. At the end of the shift it's easier to leave.

that’s amazing! I was in L&D, MedSurg-Tele, OR and now i want to be an ER nurse because i love being in a fast pace environment, seeing and experiencing different cases while being compassionate at the same time.

Just watching this video kinda makes me want to work as a nurse now. I'm a RN but never worked as one. Proceeded to medicine & worked as a physician for 2 years. Now I want to work as a nurse for experience. 🙂 I love nurses. 😍

#NurseBlake I hope you are Great! I was wondering if I could ask your advise. I’m just now starting over nursing would be my 3rd. I have always had to work super hard in school to get decent grades and always need time to reread certain things. Anyway to make a long story short I was wondering if you think getting my LPN first would help me prepare for my RN and give me a base since I’ve been out out school so long. I have also never had much science as I currently have my GED and a few college courses. I was also looking a a BSN program that includes all of the prerequisites and you are done in 3 years as its goes year round with only short breaks. Just wonder your thoughts or anyone in the chat that has possibly done both or knows anything about LPN or RN programs.
@lakisha1374 жыл бұрын
I am currently in a 3-year BSN program (evening/weekends), but all of my pre-reqs need to be completed first. There isn’t a school in my area that offers an accelerated BSN unless you already have a Bachelor’s degree in another field. I chose to get my BSN because I work in a large city with several Level 1 trauma centers and they do not hire LPNs. In my city LPNs are mostly hired in nursing homes and a few other random facilities/offices, but that’s not where my interest lies.
@mandykal3 жыл бұрын
No to LPN. U are in school keep going. RN has endless opportunities and LPN ur limited to practice. U will grow fast as an RN if your are ambitious to learn. Trust me LPN for 16 years.

Level 1 trauma straight out of nursing school....definitely more than headaches and rashes. SO many critical patients...they come through us before going to the ICU.. also, do NOT take on more patients than your hospital sets you at. I am 1:4 and my license and self are on the line by trying to take more patients. The hospital can add more staffing if that is what is needed. I do not like this interview at all.

The homosexual spirit is so thick in this dude that he would be willing to kill a patient who didn't agree with his mental and spiritual wickedness. That's really shameful
