The scholars of the Queen Silvia Nursing Award have received Euro 6000 or local equivalent scholarships each this month. An official certificate signed by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden to follow.
Congratulations to Agnieszka Napieralska of Poland 🇵🇱, Sarina Bach of Germany 🇩🇪, Janina Viitasaari of Finland 🇫🇮 and Maria Larsson of Sweden 🇸🇪 who have been awarded for their innovative ideas to improve elderly and dementia care!

The Swedish scholar Maria Larsson is awarded for her idea of a special tool which allows the elderly to remove compression socks independently, without the assistance of others. Janina Viitasaari, the winning nursing student from Finland, is awarded for her idea to create an audio memory book that can be adapted for the elderly and people with memory challenges.
The new scholarship cycle opens on September 1 2020 and will acknowledge nurses and their ideas and solutions focused on COVID-19 healthcare challenges in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Germany and Lithuania. “Quality nursing and elderly care are critical to our future. COVID-19 has further highlighted a fact that is and has been self-evident. With the Queen Silvia Nursing Award we can engage talent and drive a future in nursing that is defined by creativity, impact and meaningful human interaction” says Stefan Björkman, CEO of Konstsamfundet, Main Country Partner of Queen Silvia Nursing Award Finland.
