Hi Xing! I'm from India and I too am planning to apply to NUS business analytics next year. How much do u think extracurriculars matter for NUS? And for the tuition grant, what all factors do they take into consideration? P.s your hardwork didn't go into vain as I found your video really helpful😃
@XingWei4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jasmine! Personally, I'm not sure they look much into extracurriculars (since they only requested for awards to be listed in the application) so I remember being bummed about that when applying hahah I know people here who were really involved in extracurriculars throughout high school, but also people who weren't at all involved. Still, if you've been really active in extracurriculars, it doesn't hurt to include it in your personal statement! I can only assume that added experience gives your application an advantage. For the tuition grant, it's common that you'll get it as long as you indicate you require it. Don't think you have to worry too much! Happy to know you found the video helpful :-)

Hello. I am from Myanmar, you know 😁😁 I plan to attend this university in coming years. Do you think that the admissions of this uni for engineering subjects like architectural..... hard for international student? Pls give some suggestion for preparing the admission
@XingWei4 жыл бұрын
Hey Wai Phone! It's definitely competitive across the board, and with more allocations for admission given to Singaporeans, international admits are faced with stiffer competition. In terms of prep, do make sure you have the necessary English qualifications (IELTS, etc.), and a high school grade that meets the requirements. I have a theory that coming from a more unique education background gives you higher chances of getting in (increases diversity), but I'm not sure. Extracurricular achievement can only be of benefit (but you'll only be given two spaces to write about your achievements anyway + one for Olympiad achievements). Best of luck!

Hmm I'd e-mail the admissions team to be sure! I think it really depends on which pre-university qualification you're holding (or if you've graduated from pre-university yet). I recall for my qualification (the OSSD), I only had to take the SATs if I was applying pre-graduation.

@XingWei3 жыл бұрын
In the end of the day it’s down to which one you feel you can do better in! So that you can meet the requirements to be considered for admission. However, historically I believe more people have been admitted based on A-level qualifications (also could be because in general more people do A-levels in Malaysia) + A-levels would be the most similar to the Singaporean A-levels that the locals are admitted based on. Hope this helps and all the best!
