He wasn't ashamed where he from. He left because it was too much happening in New Orleans at that time. According to P, he was on the run but he can't talk about it so he open up shop in the Bay. Leaving New Orleans paid off that's where he learn the independent music came from then brought it back home. P got so big it would of been stupid to stay in New Orleans and get killed.
