Nusayba was one of the early women to convert to Islam. She was one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Her most renowned role came in the battle of Uhud, where she defended the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She also participated in the battle of Hunain, Yamamah and the Treaty of Hudaybia.
Her two sons, both later martyrs in battle, were from her first marriage to Zaid bin ʿAsim Mazni. She later married bin ʿAmr, and had another son Tameem and a daughter Khawlah.[1]

When I was a teenager I hated Islam ... The main reason for that was patriarchy in Islam.My family never taught me about the rights of women in Islam ... they always taught me to only obey what adults say.. The non-Muslims around me say that Islam does not give women their rights and oppresses them but when I heard the history of Nusaiba bint Kahab I was thrilled... Brothers and Sisters who read this comment said do not oppress your daughters and sisters, do not humiliate them ... Teach them well... raise them well.. I wish many more Nusaibas would be born into this world.. your daughters and sisters can be a ticket to jannah. raise them well..may allah guide us all...ameen😊

Patriarchy is not the problem but sometimes men of the family turn it into a dictatorship and use Islam to justify their actions. The solution is learning Islam properly.

I was with her every stage of the pregnancy until she was born where after I gave the Athan and Iqaamah in her ears and performed tahneek. I had prayed and endeavoured for her to become a scholar but calamity befell and my beloved and her siblings was no longer with me. To this day my heart is so broken. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that. There's a hadith on this incident. The Sahabees were among the best of human, but humans. They made mistakes just like any other human but we have no right to call them out, only Allah and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) have that right. So the narrator is merely narrating.

Its false that woman didnt have any rights in 'all' of arabia. Yemen even had her own queen known as queen of sheba. The region of hejaz has had over 5 queens instead of queens, and the region known as jordan also had female priests. The bedouins were known for being toxic males and treating females in bad manners. Also burying daughters was only done by the poor bedouins who couldnt afford a extra daughter. So no, woman were not opressed in all of arabia and opressing didnt occur on a daily basis. It is even said that the romans introduced the idea of men being dominant and should be the only ones to rule. All of the godesses in arabia were also females, allat + aluzza+ almanat were al females. This shows that both males and females believed in female godesses.

Amazing sahabiyat stories especially that of Nusayba bint Ka'ab. Very inspiring to boys and girls. Not only for girls. I would be careful with the book mentioned at the end. 10 female figures and 10 males are mentioned. Among the 10 females mentioned is Begum Rokeya who is a Bengali *feminist* and activist. I would not want to cloud my daughters' perception of what it means to be a girl in this day and age. The victimised mentality and wanting the benefits of hard work without doing the work. No thank you. Islam teaches us to respect all mankind including the animals. My definition of respect is what Khadija, Aisha, Fatima and Nusayba radiyallahu anhum, got from the members of society.

That verse was actually sent down after Umm Salama's questioning. Not Nusaybah's. this hadith, see Ibn Ḥanbal, Musnad Aḥmad Ibn Ḥanbal (Maymaniyya printing), 6:301, 305; Aḥmad b. Shuʿayb al-Nasāʾī, Sunan al-Nasāʾī al-kubrá, ed. Shuʿayb al-Arnāʾūṭ et al., 12 vols. (Beirut: Muʾassasat al-Risālah, 2001), 10:219. This was deemed ṣaḥīḥ by the editors of the Arnāʾūṭ edition of the Musnad al-Imām Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal, ed. Shuʿayb al-Arnāʾūṭ et al., 50 vols. (Beirut: Mu’assasat al-Risāla, 1995-), 44:199. There is also a less common narration that this question came from Umm ʿUmārah of the Anṣār; Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī, kitāb tafsīr, bāb min Sūrat al-Aḥzāb.

But is the name nusayba or naseebah?
@muhammadbenjuraij7734
@muhammadbenjuraij7734 2 жыл бұрын
It is a diminutive noun of Naseeb meaning noble. Nearly every diminutive noun in Arabic starts with a dammah on its first letter. Its correctly Nusaybah نُسَيْبَةُ and means a noble little girl/woman.

Can you cite any proof from the hadith that this story is true because what I know of the prophet (s) is that he said that the jihad of the women is hajj.

... things have been cleverly interpreted through Hadith and Quran..just to make Selfish Men Happy ...they scream mother's status and Quran or whatever Islam gave women status , respect etc.but they themselves pick up and believe things according to their Likes and Comfort!!

@Fearless Ali once again where is the evidence from the quran and sunnah? You don't have any so you are speaking without knowledge which is equivalent to shirk as Allah mentions in the quran.

We captured some of the women as prisoners, and the long separation from our wives was pressing us hard and we wanted to release sperms outside of the women. We asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (whether it was permissible). He said, "It is better for you to release sperms inside. No soul, (that which Allah has) destined to exist, up to the Day of Resurrection, but will definitely come, into existence." Sahih al-Bukhari 2542
