List of all Ork Species in Warhammer 40K Universe

The Orks of the 40K or the greenskins as they are commonly called are actually a fungal species that were created and bred for war, initially by the old ones during the war in heaven some 60-70 millions ago, they are an ecosystem by themselves, with each fungal spore depending on conditions will give rise to the different orkoid races. They only live to fight and their society is loosely based on who is strongest and which warboss would assemble a Waagh. They are seen by other races as savage, violent, and crude creatures, but they are in fact the most successful species in the whole galaxy, outnumbering possibly every other intelligent race except for the tyranids. While there are certain biological and technological aspects of these aliens that worthy of note, we will put them in another video, as for now we will focus on The 7 Types and subspecies of Orks or Orkoids found in 40K

Quantity has a quality all of its own! Thinking back to my WH fantasy days, Ork army having Snotling Pump wagons rolling in to and over infantry units... or into them like a brick wall; all a bit of the luck of the draw; same randomness for having ~Doom-Divers~ for the uninitiated, think Orc with a pointy helmet and crude wingsuit who's catapulted Kamikaze across the battlefield in to the opponent... or a tree, or the ground right in front of you, or off the map.... or misfires and destroys the Diver and the catapult. Between the vehicles/weapons, animosity and haphazard Fanatics I could kill as many of my own team as my opponent!! >XD It's like that quiz online: How many 8 year olds can you fight? 1V1 - Easy, harmless. 42 (in my case) and things are likely to end badly. Although, TBF, I think Snotlings are probably more pleasant than 8yo's!! >XD

The scariest thing to me about the green skins in general, is the fact that they can essentially develop new versions of themselves to suit their needs. If they need some sort of slave labor/backup group the goblins/gretchin were born (use I that term loosely). If they need specialist types - they basically grow or develop as the Orks need by becoming smarter at putting scrap together for weapons, armor and even vehicles as well as their version of medics with Pain Boyz, Mech Boyz for Engineering as aforementioned and even Psykers or Shamans depending on the more Sci-Fi or Fantasy version. Hell if they need a food source all of a sudden besides eating their own Orks or Gretchin/Goblins or need a mount of some kind - Squigs are pets as well as immediate rations if they don't resort to cannibalism or whatever food from other races they generally steal. That's not even brining up how overall adaptive they are to almost any environment. Personally I haven't heard any stories about it, but they could probably learn how to make ramshackle space suits or develop another subspecies for that role too as well as a type that can swim like a fish, reptile or amphibian by growing tails and likely regrowing them if severed like they do their teeth. In fact if Nippon ever actually makes it's way into the medium with lore and other content like games and books, the Kappa are literally gonna be Water-based Goblins or more likely Hobgoblins since they're taller and usually smarter than their smaller cousins unless you get a mutant like Paunch who grew to the size and ferocity that he did from gorging on troll meat, now he's sort of like the Goblin version of a Ogre in the Fantasy setting. And I can't imagine what that will probably look like if it ever gets into the more sci-fi style 40K setting.

The Krork that Trayzin has must be a warboss. If every Krork was as strong as a Primarch the Necrons wouldn’t have been able to put up much of a fight since a Space Marinr Captain is already able to go toe to toe with a Necron lord.

You're absolutely right. I have always been surprised by the absolute certainty of people that Krork from Trayzin collection is a ordinary specimen. Trayzin lived in a time when there were trillions of such Krorks throughout the galaxy. It is doubtful that Trayzin would have taken a common boyz into his collection. I think this Krork was a Beast level warlord.

It’s hilarious, how when it comes to advanced civilizations an ork would have a field day simply using his own kind as a means of ammunition for a carterpult, imagine being a clone trooper manning a barricade only for snotlings to rain down from the sky, again they may be small, but given their tenacious personality as well as being a dam right nuisance, where if given sufficient numbers are capable of bringing down much larger enemies and given their tenderness to wield daggers or even in a race case firearms makes them a menace for any soldier’s being forced to deal with them, and again considering that the only real effective means is mass planetary incineration where even the Death Star would have significant problems killing any orks, since orks are more than happy to live in the vacuum of space or in the broken remains of a space hull, orks if put in any other setting would be an absolute menace, being able to backwards engineer almost any advance pice of technology, being resilient in the extreme and more than happy to live basically anywhere outside of an actual death world, even that wouldn’t put much of a damper on the orks moral, and anything other than an ork is either there to be kumpted, eaten or enslaved, and anything more advanced and capable of using anything more advanced than a musket is just there for fun, not to mention the orks tendencies to reproduce via spores, so even being near an ork is liable for an individual to accidentally carry an ork spore in say a food crate or drop ship and until the next time the end up on a suitable planet, that planet now has an ork infestation to now deal with. And again any reasonably advance society that fights the orks ie the CIS droid army, would result in simply the orks looting the droids weapons and repurposing the droids into a tank.

Here's a good question. How powerful do you think Warp entities empowered by the Krork armies were during the War In Heaven? Keep in mind this is a era where armies should be able to crush the Forces of Chaos in the 42nd Millennium like dirt even with the Great Rift around. A era where armies of star destorying C'Tans and the prime Warp entities like the Eldar gods in their primes should have been fighting each other. Along with whatever else the Old Ones and their allies conjured and created for the war against the C'Tan and their allies, vassals, and servants like the Necrons who had been able to bulid super weapons that can possibly destroy the galaxy at that time. Depending whatever firewalls and defensive systems existed back then. Now imagined what Gork and Mork empowered by Krorks would have been like.

I remember long ago the canon was that Nightbringer, the C'tan of Death, made his last big strike against his foes be to produce the ultimate tailored gene-plague and introduce it to the Krork. This plague snuffed out the Brainboyz, who couldn't cure it, so they did some genetic tinkering themselves before they finally took their last gasp, to encode their knowledge into the Krork genome. Unfortunately, your average Krork/Ork (or even exceptional specimens) don't have brains capable of handling all that. Best case scenario, they come out of it with decent knowledge of tech (and become a Mekboy), or 'medical' knowledge and become a Painboy. Worst case scenario, they get ALL of it, and become a Madboy, spending 99% of their time uselessly deranged because their brains can't process the vast and complex ocean of knowledge they possess. Without the Brainboyz, there's nobody to guide the Krork warriors, and nobody to make their weapons that were strong enough to rival the Aeldari and Necrons. If someone ever somehow restores the Brainboyz, the galaxy is hosed.

As the Korks regressed due to the lack of Brains Boy and Heavenly War, the Eldar culled them. One world at time, probably profiting of a lack of interstellar communication, until there so few Orks that the Korks would be impossible to grow. The Beast is the only case of a Waaagh big enough for an Ork close to Kork status ever since.

Keep in mind that current 40k Necrons are not only divided, struggling to wake up properly, used to have shattered C'tans on their side, and had to decommission a lot of their weapons of mass destruction out of fear they could be misused and rip the galaxy to pieces. One of the few WMDs they still have active are a hologram that lets them blow up stars with the tap of a finger and somehow this was one of the lesser WMDs that were allowed to be kept.

If a Kork were to happen, he would be the boss of the majority of the Orks (or regress to a Ork like the Beast or Ghazgull) There would still be different Ork factions because greenskins don't do unity. If the Korks came back as a real race (more than one or two) They would be a new faction. Because that would need a number of greenskins on the same scale as Humanity

Yea in novels I've read they usually chalk it up as a win if they defeat the horde and scatter them. They just have to accept that A) for the next 20 years they'll be killing off any significant remnants and B) even then there'll forever be a new groups popping up in remote areas where they've got a foothold that need stamping out.
