There is always going to be someone out there with "bigger" problems than you, but you are allowed to feel how you feel. It's so kind of you to try and play down your issues, but just know that it's ok to have feelings and be upset or frustrated. As a long time dancer myself, particularly ballet, I definitely struggled with body image. As I have gotten older, it has definitely eased. I just hope that you know you aren't alone when it comes to having trouble with self-image.

The thing is we are confronted with mostly model bodies on social media and we spend so much time there. Sometimes you really have to stop and tell yourself "if I don't want to be a model, why do I think I have to look like one?" most of those girls work very hard for their bodies because its how they make a living, its who they are, its what they are famous for. So why should we beat ourselves up when our goal is to be a photographer, a doctor, a teacher, an artist, a singer, a runner, a baker or anything else? Why should someone who happily spends their time doing something else look like they continuously pose in front of a camera half naked? I'm so proud of you for pulling yourself out of those breakdowns so quickly!

yes that’s true, HOWEVER luna is a dancer. and a ballet dancer, to be precise. a ballet dancers job is to be looked at and to be pretty, so they also need to have a certain body shape and that’s why most ballet dancers have some type of body dismorphia. it’s sad but it’s reality for most dancers.

i know i’m late but i really relate to Luna with feeling jealous about my body compared to others. dance (especially ballet) i feel like is such a competitive sport. it’s not just about how good you are but it’s also about how good your arch is how flexible you are how skinny you are and it sucks so bad. just recently i had an absolute breakdown over this one girl in my class who’s literally amazing. but you know, like luna said nobody is perfect.

I feel like every professional dancer starts at the age of 4. I started at 5, quit when I was 7 and did gymnastics but I sucked at that so it was back and forth until I did neither. I’m now back into dance and I plan on staying in it. I just feel like I’m so set back and everyone else has so much experience

Could you do a video about how gou strech? I would love to see that! I love you're ballet video's. You inspire me. When i was young i always wanted to do ballet. But my parents couldn't afford it. I am 20 now. I make my own money. And still had the dream to dance ballet. But i was scared because i am already 20 and felt to old. But i just thought i had to do it, otherwise i would regret it. Julie Diktas try ice water with apple cider vinegar or epsom salt after you dance. Either one will take swelling down and help heal any cuts/blisters.
